Hello ladies, my son leaves out of Buffalo the 3rd.  This is so hard to let go isn't it?

OK ladies so apparently not a good idea to go the beach weekend before boot camp. The physical doctor could not accept him if sunburn! Ugh we are trying anything to get red gone. Lol this is taking my mind off it and scrambling for aloe etc. Maybe spray tan over it as last resort. This must be sub consciousness at its best trying to keep him here longer.
That was the hardest thing to do ever! I kept it together foe the most part leaving him at the hotel we had a nice dinner walked around Boston but I new it was dragging it out he was ready I think we made him more nervous so we left. The elevator ride and hour ride home was the worst emotional ride ever. I need to hear that voice soon. I think I'm going a little crazy I did make him call my cell phone to leave a message on it so I could replay it. He laughed but did it.stay strong everyone.

Hey Jackie,

Now that our kids have been in for 2 days, how you doing?  People keep asking me that question...and it's always changing.  :)  But I knew that I was going to be happy/sad/angry/a mess/proud.  There's just so many changes and it was so abrupt.  You can only prepare so much (like all the research we did for the Navy)...but for us anyways...we're just being as honest about our emotions as possible.

Had a friend come over today.  She didn't stay long...my hair was a mess and dishes weren't done.  And you know, I just can't care what SHE thinks or about those things.  I figure as long as I haven't gone on a killing spree or locked myself in my room, I'm doing ok.  :)

Not sure if our kids will meet, I have no idea how they're grouped...but it sounds like they all got to GL about the same time.  Praying for all of you and our future sailors!

So the past two days have been the hardest days of my life (except for when my Dad died).  I feel emotionally drained.  Just got the 30 second phone call from Boot Camp and was lucky to even get "I love you" out of my mouth before he had to hang up.  I'm so glad I'm not the only Mom who feels like they are losing it mentally.  My husband doesn't "get it" so this website is a God send for sure...

Got my script call moms keep phones ready!

My son Josh also left on 3 July out of Atlanta, GA.   He will be attending A school in Pensacola.  Miss him already!

Since your SR will have "A" School in Pensacola, join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!! and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola. What will his rating (job/specialty) be? There are groups for many of the ratings with "A" School in Pensacola.

My son will be in A school in Pensacola Corry station! How is everyone holding up? This is so hard and emotional!

MA is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf.
