Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

PIR Questions
Does anyone know when you go to PIR and show your ID do they also ask your recruit's name or need any other information? Do they just check your ID to a list or is it specific to the recruit?
Also can you get more than one gate pass?

They check IDs and the final list of names they have received from your SR, your names are listed with your Sailors name and division. None of us were asked any additional information about our Sailor when we attended a year ago, but my sons PIR was before the rules changed and extra guests were still allowed to attend. They may ask additional questions about your Sailor now, I don't know.
You can print as many gate passes as you want or need.

The reason I ask is we heard that if a recruit didn't have 4 people attending that they could put names on their list for another recruit that might have more than 4 people wanting to attend but I don't know if that's really possible and wouldn't want my recruit or another to get into any trouble....do you know anything about that?

The RTC frowns heavily on putting a name on another SRs list it is against their policy. If "caught" they will not be allowed to attend PIR, and it is possible that both SRs could lose their liberty from what we have heard. I would not have a name put on another SRs list.
