Micka, Why are they taking so long giving you a ship date ?
Dorothea, I do not know. Since my son turned 18 we do not go to recruiters with him anymore. It went from Dec to Aug 15 to Aug 5 and now Aug 8th or 9th. Maybe it has to coincide with the training in the section he will be in. I planned his shipping out party forJuly 27th soI should be good LOL
Wow. My sons ships out on August 1 however he MUST be dropped off with the Recruiter at 12 pm on July 31. We have known since November of his ship date. Thank goodness it never changed. I would be a mess right now if I were you ....
Dorothea my son has a an SO contract, you have to DEP in before you can get the contract so he got a leave date for for first job then when he was selected for SO the date changed twice but now I think it is set for Aug 5
Micka , is he still on for the 5th? I hope so for you . I would be nice if he and my son were at GL going through the same BC date and PIR. Guess we shall see soon enough : )
Maybe they will all be together .I just hope they know that we know their all together there and they get together and be buddies and we can all share our stories when they have their PIR :)
@jknight88... I cannot find your question on here but it comes up on my phone. You can email me at mika.alyn@yahoo.com
I will be in school all day and this site is hard to maneuver on my phone. My son flew out day after PIR, The GC base is pretty strict after PIR, but I do not know about other bases with A school. Hope this helps, I am off to class have a great day ladies... oh ya son says ship date is Aug 5th, we will see
Hi!!! My son is leaving August 6th from Orlando, Florida. He is 18 years old. I am so excited and at the same time so sad he will be leaving home. He will head to Great Lakes then to A school. I am planning to head to Jacksonville to see him off with his three other brothers...but it will be an emotional time for all. I am planning his going away party as we speak. I am so thankful for having this website to inform me on what to expect and what i should be doing to make his transition easier. And its great to have so many moms to get great advise from. If anyone has and advise for me i would appreciate it...my son's rating is Hospital Corps Man....
