Hi Ladies,

Some of you may have seen a conversation between other moms, in a different PIR date, on Navy For Moms regarding a gift basket auction at Sarge's Meet and Greet.  I thought this would be fun for us to do as well, if we can get enough of us ladies to participate.  I believe the idea was to make a basket specific to our state or locale.  The proceeds will go to Sarge and his wife for hosting all of us.  This would just be on top of our donations for the Meet and Greet in appreciation to them.  I think if we could have at least 10 ladies say yes to participating, this would be enough to "go" with.  We will need to set a monetary limit to spend on making the baskets, so I will wait to hear your response:)  I am signing up to make one basket right now:)  Anyone who cannot or does not wish to make a basket, can feel free to bid on the baskets;)

Thanks for any involvement!

ps. Mine will be "Imported from Detroit"

Just wanted to share ...I am having so much fun with putting this basket together and learning so much about my state ... I am so glad I agreed to do this ... Hope everyone else is having as much fun as I am doing the  basket.

Thinking my basket theme might be "Eating your way through PA"  not sure yet though

Thank you for sharing that:) Ha, I like that name:)  I have my empty basket, and some decorations for it, but nothing actually IN it yet.  LOL  I know I said I was heading out the other day...but... I know what I am putting in it though:)

I have all the items for my gift basket representing Northern California. My daughter is going to help me make it look pretty.

I am lacking a catchy name! My basket will be full of items made or grown in Northern California and also several patriotic items, including the basket itself.

They only thing I have come up with so far is:  "Proud to be Northern California Free!"

Pretty lame, does anyone have any suggestions???

The value of the basket will be $35.00

I will provide a list of items later when I get home.

HA, no it is not lame...I like it!  Mine is titled Imported from Detroit, and it isnt even all from Detroit!  It was going to be, but I wanted to represent more of the state, so I did:)  Go with the name you have:)

My basket is almost finished. My daughter is having s blast with this. We came up with the name "NEBRASKA". Yes it is a state. Our basket consists of things made or invented in Nebraska. I'll give a complete list tomorrow.

LOL

Once a Husker, always a Husker......you could always go with Aksarben!  I grew up in Omaha,  Big Red never leaves your soul!

B.A.s mom - So true! Lol

I THINK I have everything for my basket.  I am going to make some homemade chocolate chip cookies and my homemade fudge also:)

Hi Saratoga, and everyone else. I'm kinda of all over our FB page and forget to come on to N4N, I know I posted a while back, but I'm working on So. Cali basket, I know I saw a price range before. It's not to big, but I made it with love, I hope you guys like it. I'm actually having it shipped to the post office in Waukegan they said they will hold for me to pick up. We are flying and baggage is expensive.

Hey, that sounds great:)  And, what a great idea to ship it and pick it up there!  Cant wait to meet all of you wonderful ladies!  Its getting more and more difficult to wait for next week to get here...think I might just start walking...lol

I'm with you on that Saratoga. I just want to hold him and smell him. Funny how things are you miss things like their scent, their goofy laugh, or even them trying to annoy you.

Oh my goodness, proudofmySr Josh, I have missed his laugh and silliness.  I have imagined seeing his grin so many times, imagined him in his room... Soon:)
