Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 293 and 294
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I have had a great Wednesday! Two letters and one "very short" phone call! Carl's voice sounded so much better than the first phone call.... He is hanging in there! I still send two letters/cards/post cards/etc. everyday.. He told he that it makes him feel so good to hear his name called when they pass out mail. I was running out of things to say everyday day so I started sending sports articles, local and national news clippings and he said he loved reading what was going on and he shares it with other sailors! So I am now scanning ESPN's website (which I honestly have never done before) and printing off the latest headlines... oh the things I do for my son...lol The day to graduation is slowly getting here... I cannot wait until August 9th when the large bay doors open and the Sailors of Division 293 & 294 appear :)
I like those ideas, thanks for sharing!
That is awesome... he wrote me about his bunk mates... what is your son's name? So glad they are friends!
I was doing same thing.... my son loves the comics '''
Received letter from my SR yesterday. States others in division don't listen to instruction so forever being physically trained harder for punishment. I wrote back and told him to be a leader and have patience. He said they are doing a lot of inside activities he has "cabin fever". That surprised me. Other than that all the normal complaints about not enough time to write and call home or sleep, lol. He said food is good they have buffet style meals, he likes that. Also, he doesn't know how many are able to come in for graduation apparently they are still under the impression that its a possibility of being 4????? Not sure why they are being told that its a possibility....He is begging for mail though, he says its a big deal to all of them to get lots of letters.
My son's letter said pretty much the same about others not listening and they were worked physically from 7-12... hopefully it will get better for them. My son loves the food they serve also... at least that is one positive, huh?
Well, my son called last Wednesday but I was not home my 19 year cousin talk to him but didn't ask the right questions. I was very upset that I missed the call. I have not received his form letter and he left June 12, 2013. My cousin said that he was a little bored and had some issue with swim test. Which bother me but i am sticking to no news is good news. I wish i had the form letter at least. We have been writing him but have not received a letter from him. So hopefully everthing is o.k. the only thing i got out of the conversation from my 19yr old cousin (male) is that my SR wanted a cigeratte and that BC was basically easy and he was bored.
Losing my mind but hopefully he is keeping his cool.
Hello everyone. Does anybody know anything about the post (not sure what group it was under) that says we will get no more calls until 8/1?? I was sure hoping to get a few more calls before PIR.
Thanks for replying. We've been lucky to have received a couple of calls! Certainly will keep my phone close, but won't be so anxious that I'm going to miss a call. I sent him another calling card, not sure that he will be able to use it. Maybe he can use it in A school.
Check with the card issuer. Some cards have a feature where they can input a code (like ##, or **#, etc) and make another call after the first one has hung up, without incurring the additional connection fee.
