Unlike 99% of the moms and loved ones on here I don't have a lot to look forward to..no I have arrived safely phone call...no kid in the box...no letters...no PIR preparations to make..nothing, its heartbreaking! Unfortunately my son and I haven't talked in almost 2 years and now he is in GL @ BC. I tried many many times and ways to reach out to him before he left but received no response...At this point all I can do is hope that this will be a good experience for both of us and that the lines of communication will soon reopen between him & I...I miss him terribly and think about him every minute of every day.
Sorry for the "debbie downer" post but I am so grateful for this site and group...reading everyone's positive posts and experiences has helped me get through this past week.

See, I told ya some times a vent session is all it takes.... Think how boring life would be if it was a perfect life. We love our children and they love us.. Sometimes unspoken words are the best. Sometimes it is just to hard to say " I love you " or " forgive me "......
LOL, oh sorry...a southern expression! Yes, it is good!! It means you are speaking the truth...and a whole lot of it!! :)
Yes ma'am. South Louisiana!! :) Where are you?
VA.... hahahaha Still considered a Southern State. And I spend a lot of time in Raleigh NC.
You're absolutely correct! And that is the day I am living for...the "forgive me" day.
I am waiting to here anything with a sincere tone like "I'm sorry" or "That was my fault" Those are hard words for my SR!! Someday......
I'm learning not to expect anything like that at all!! I know that I have been a good mother. I have done all I physically and financially can for my son. I am now here for his emotional support and that's all I can really do. One day, hopefully, he will understand the value of that. But, I'm not setting myself up for the disappointment if he doesn't. He knows that I love him and I know that he loves me...he does tell me that he loves me. He just has a funny way of showing it sometimes. He has his father's way of showing it....which is not much of a way at all.
And you may never hear those words. Heck , most kids today do not even know how to write a proper letter, address an envelope or have a verbal conversation. Its either texting , hash tagging or twitter. I can call my son , he wont answer, left me send him a text or ipad his butt and boom, reply quicker than a blink of an eye.But someday maybe tomorrow. That is the excitement of the unknown : )
