It is so nice to see another HM MOM.... I take my son to the Recruiting Station July 31st and he ships to GL on August 1st. We are from VA. His A School will be in SA... Lets keep in touch
New here and feeling very overwhelmed by all of the information to take in on this site, AND by pure, motherly emotions! My 19 y/o son heads to MEPS in Charlotte, NC on Aug 4, to arrive in GL on Aug 5. I guess I'm no different than any other mama, but I'm finding this to be very difficult! He's been in DEP for almost a year now, so I've known it was coming. But now that the time is short I'm really struggling, though I have managed to keep it together in front of my son so far. I am so proud of him, excited to see him begin this adventure, but scared & sad all at the same time. He's the first of my 4 kids to truly leave home! After BC, he will head to Goose Creek, SC for A school (nuke).
Just Stopping by to Add a little Hug for all the Moms in here who have had their Sailors leave for BC already,or getting ready to my Son doesnt leave until Next September so I cant Imagine what you are feeling being ahead of me But what a Wonderful Website this is to bring us all together and full of information and give us a peace of mind that the 101 emotions that we are all feeling are Ok :)
Hugs to all ....
