Haven't been on much but what day is your son leaving and from

where?

Happy Mother's Day!
They may not know how much we love them, but it doesn't matter because we know!

"You may see me struggle, but you will never see me fail"

Tracie.   Happy Mothers Day !

Obviously you've done something right as your daughter is eager to follow in your footsteps.

Do you remember how excited and grown up you felt when you joined the navy, whatever it was your daughter must have the same gumption and drive! She has a wonderful role model, explains why she is confident and ready to go! Be proud!

Thank you! That made me cry... (Not that that is hard these days!) I do see a lot of me in her, especially as she gets older. Not sure whether to be proud or scared!

Hi everyone. My daughter is leaving August 12, 2013, from St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. After BC, its off to A School at Pencecola, FL. for ATC. I cant believe that the time is getting close for her to leave. I'm so excited for her and nervous at the same time. My I am going to miss her to pieces, i don't think I will ever be ready for that day.

Hi mchristian17! Welcome. Personally I am trying not to think about how much I am going to kiss my son. How are you and your daughter getting ready for her departure? Anything special?

Hi all, here we are, the August group. My son is scheduled to ship out on 8/14 from Sacramento CA. Tomorrow is the halfway mark from the time he enlisted to his ship date. He's ready, we are ready too. We plan to fill the summer with trips and activities that include his favorites. He is 21, will be 22 in July. He will be going into the nuke program and is pretty proud of that. It will be good for him. In the meantime, he has a monthly meeting at the navy center and a monthly workout session with other deppers. I have gained a lot from following my local N4M group (Bay Area in Northern Calif) and the Nuke group...I'm looking forward to sharing these next few months with all of you!

@Cindisue welcome, my older son is a Nuke, he is in prototype right now.  The last phase of the training. My husband was a nuke in theNavy also.  I am on here for my youngest who is SO.  Are you on Nuke Moms On FB?

It getting rather large but a good group.  Anyway good luck to your son!!

T

Hi Cindisue and Micka, My son leaves August 6 from Medford, OR and he will be in the Nuke program too.  He is very excited to start this new adventure in his life.  He will turn 19 on June 12.  I am at times very excited for him and very sad for me, I will miss him so much!  He is my last child and my daughter is leaving to return to college around the same time so we will be empty nesters.  :(  I will join the Nuke group too, that's a good idea.

Taked to my son's Recruiter yesterday.. Date is still the same . Hand him over July 31st. He then heads to Great Lakes August 1.Only thing that changed was his Paygrade...I have planned one big party to celebrate 18th birthday, Graduation and enlisting. Then I hope some quite time ...I am a proud Mom , that's for sure... I hope we can all continue talking once they are in bc.

 callsforrecruits.org

Here is a wonderful web site that every Mom and Dad should take a look at . They help recruits get calling card so they can call home. They also have teamed up with another company that sells Navy items. I just bought a Blue Candle ( Recruits ). And I am about to donate a few dollars so that someone going to Boot Camp has a way to call home.. Its an amazing blessing for some that may not have the means.
