For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

How to address a letterpackage to a Navy Sailor in A school
This may seem like a silly question but I am unsure how to write a letter to my sailor. He is in A school in Monterey and of course I know his name, I have the address, but I am sure there is a specific format to write his name/title. Does anyone know what that is supposed to look like? What the format is for addressing a package?

SN, Last Name, First Name
That's how I do it for my husband's A school. I think SN means Sailor something. Ha ha I can't keep up with all the acronyms. But as long as it's his last name and first name and you have the address and his PMB number it will be fine. The PMB number is like his box number. They aren't too picky about the title or anything like that.

Okay, another question because I am getting confused. If he is in A school do I just assume he is SN? Is that a correct assumption? I wanted to see his stuff today and I know there is no way I can get in touch with him today before I send it.

Just use the SN, it is pretty generic if you don't know his exact title. They might make fun of him, but that's okay, the package will still go to him.
I could explain it all, but you simply need the basic info. (Aviation and engineers are different designations, and each paygrade has a different title, don't worry about it at this point)

Anti M. you seem to know everything there is to know when it comes to the Navy. i have another question. The tracking confirmation says the package was delivered yesterday to his A school in California. Does that mean he should have it by now then? I know it is a bit silly to worry about when he actually gets it, but it does not stay in the mail room for long, does it?

He has to go get it, they don't take it to him, usually. So it depends on his schedule and the mail room hours. Since it is Friday, it is likely he'll get a chance to pick it up today.

not sure for him my guy is in officer school in RI but, I've heard from all branches and such that they may get in trouble if you send a package of treats or something unnecessary.... you might want to check on that

He's in A school, not boot camp. Enlisted sailors only get in trouble for packages during boot camp.
