My son will be leaving from Pennsylvania on 7/16 for Great Lakes. Is there anyone else that has a recruit leaving on the same day?

Hello, i am a new member. My daughter PIR is on 9/13/13. I searched on FB but see this is now a closed group. Is there any way i can still join?

My daughter left on 7/16- She is on Ship 11 Div 345- just got a call from her on Saturday. So excited to hear from her. She is doing well and sounds proud and determined. Her PIR is scheduled for 9/13/13. I am counting down the days.

I keep seeing PIR dates and recv'd phone calls from SR's that left on 7/16 ... I have heard or received nothing ): should I be concerned ???

It was hit or miss. A lot of us got calls and many of us didn't. Some of the reasons could be that their division did not get a call, that the individual SR that didn't call had guard duty, or that they didn't have a calling card to make the call. If you didn't hear from them this weekend my guess is that you will get a call next weekend. I wouldn't worry. No news is good news right now!

Those who arrived on 07/16/2013 seem to be in Divisions 345 through 348. Each division has a different RDC and each Division has about 88 recruits. The RDC's schedule time at the phone banks and if another division is already scheduled, then they have to find another time that is available that the division is not scheduled to be somewhere else.  Remember calls are not always on the weekend. Phone Cards and Phone Calls tells more about how calls work.

Thanks lemonelephant! When my son called he said there were 92 recruits in his division. Ship 13 Div 348. I was shocked to hear of such a large number.

Yes, there can actually be up to 100 in a division. From your comment, I can tell that he is in an integrated division with both males and females because an all male division will not have more than 88 recruits since that's the number of bunks in a compartment (unless my info is off). (See Ship/Division--How it Works.)

No 347 and 348 are all males divisions. I even asked him about that and if he was sure of the number and he said yes "we have 45 minutes to get 92 recruits showered". It came up during our shower conversation. :)

Interesting. If you think about it, ask him how many racks are in his compartment. It could be that additional bunks have been added to the compartments since I was given the number or maybe there is a different number of racks in different ships.

Will do. I was thinking about sending him the questionnaire since he isn't much of a writer. I'm going to modify to remove info I already know. I'll add the "How many racks" question to see if he knows. He's so tired from only sleeping 4 hours a night he could be off, but he seemed pretty adamant about that specific number even after I said really? That many? So I'll see if I can get the info for you.
Thank you for all you do to answer questions and everything else on this site! It's a blessing!

Thank you for checking on that and thank you for your kind words.
