I am from MA but he  is going through a recruiter in Maine

we are from pa, cant wait to see which boys end up together

When is you SR leaving from? My son leaves with his recruiter Aug 5 to Harrisburg then leaves Aug 6th.

36 and counting ...Does anyone else have a SR leaving August 1 2013 ?

We are in Abilene, TX. I think I'm still in denial! I'm a little panicked about PIR. If they don't leave together then they will PIR at different times & my husband & I won't be able to make it to both, we will be driving to GL & it's 17 hours from here. I think that's my biggest fear is not getting to be there for them to show how proud of them we are....uugggghhhh

My son leaves August 13th!  He is 22 years old and a great guy.  I am so proud of him but think saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have had to do.  I have a daughter, 19 years old, who is a sophmore in college and leaves back that same week.  She plays soccer which will keep us busy and my mind off of our son away.  However, we will be truly empty nested except our 2 8-year old dogs!!

Hi Ladies - I am thinking ahead to a 'Going Anchors Aweigh to College' party, because my daughter is leaving for Indiana (we are in California) for college immediately after my son goes to BC. UGH - bittersweet. SOOO proud, but going to miss them terribly.  Anyway,  I thought it would be cute to have Navy rubber duckys floating in the pool for the party.  I saw some on-line, ordered them, then got a message that they were no longer available.  Anybody have any ideas?  I can find, Army, Marines, and Air Force....just not Navy.  Anything?!

Thanks!!!

My son leaves for Great Lakes on Aug. 12 than off to Pensacola for A-School.

New to the site my daughter ships out for BC in GL 8/27 from Alabama.  A school in Pensacola after.  She is living her dream, and mine too from when I was her age.  I am excited but like most of you nervous too.  It makes such a huge difference having a site like this.

30 Days and counting .... UGH.....

Hello,  Wow, this is all very overwhelming!  My son leaves for BC August 21, does that mean he will be sworn in on August 20th?  Anyone else with this date leaving from Jacksonville?  I'm so nervous for him, I try to give him all the information I'm reading on here but he acts like it's no big deal!  I'm afraid he's in for a big shock.  I'm definitely going to read what to do the month before, thank you everyone for all your help.

33 days I think...LOL We still have not got e definite date of leave.  We are being told Aug 8th or 9th.  But on a good note my other Sailor will be home for his brothers shipping out party.  Its been 8 months since we have actually seen him, I am very excited!!
