We are right behind you.......she leaves for MEPS 4 weeks from today and then to GL the following day.........today I feel sick at my stomach, this afternoon I may be gleaming with pride, tomorrow crying.  Going through so much but putting on that smile when I am around her.

Does she leave for bootcamp on August 21st?  I'm so sorry I'm just answering, I had no idea I had information on "My Page", I'm trying to navigate through this site but for some reason it confuses me.  I still don't know if we get to have dinner with him the night before he's sworn in.  We are driving him to Jacksonville on the 20th but not sure how the day will pan out.

Hi my daughter leaves on the 21st of august from Jacksonville. It is my understanding they will not be able to spend the night with us on the 20th but can eat . Angel would love to meet someone else going to bc at that time to have a friend there while going through it. Please get in touch

Does anyone on here know the procedure on the day before they leave for bootcamp?  I thought I read a comment that they had dinner with their sailor the night before but my sons recruiter told him he has to report back at 3PM.

my daughter leaves on the 21st also from Jacksonville.i am also trying to find out if we can stay the night.her name is Christina. she is coming in as a E-3.her job will be Sonar tech.

Hi,

From what I have been told, they have to check in on the 20th at a certain time and then will be allowed to have dinner with their family and then will have a curfew of when they have to be back.  I don't know if they can leave for dinner or if they have to eat at the hotel.  If you are watching her be sworn in you will then see her the next morning.  I'm waiting on a call back from my sons recruiter to get more specific details.  Good luck, hope to see you Tuesday.

tinysailormom, Since your SR has a contract for Sonar Technician – Surface (STG), join the group STG (Sonar). The Rating Information Card for STG can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/stg.pdf. Those who have signed a 6 year contract for AEF will have Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) at GL after PIR for about 6 weeks and then will go to San Diego, CA to the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center for “A” School. Those who have signed for less than 6 years will go straight to San Diego after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you plan your weekend. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) while you are thre and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the members) as well.

thank you for all the info, but im not able to get in the cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating card(link).

You are very welcome. It opens for me in both IE and Mozilla Firefox, so it may have to do with your computer settings. Try this, click on Tools within your browser and then Internet Options, then click on the Advanced tab, then under Security, be sure that Use TLS 1.0 is checked and then click Apply. You may have to restart your computer after doing that or at least reopen your browser. That is a pdf document so you need Adobe reader, which is free at http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

my daughter is going to Great lakes  for Bc, Christina

My son leaves from Virginia for BC on August 21.

Where is he going to bootcamp at?
