Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 349 and 350

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Yes, true.  349/350 were the last divisions to fill, so they probably are last to get to mail their letters.  Hoping that some letters come today.....if not, they should be mailing out on Monday.  The PIR group that is a week behind you is being allowed to write and mail out Monday for the first time.

Hopefully that's the reason and not that they are getting punished for bad behavior.  I just need to be patient, I know once I hear something from her I will feel better.

Happy Saturday, it's about 9:45 AM here in California, I don't want to think about not hearing from my daughter so I've kept myself busy, booked our flights, hoping the world travel alert will not affect us being there at PIR, flying out wed 9/11 styling til sat 9/14. Booked our van rental through enterprise, and booked our rooms at Navy Lodge.
My daughter and I use to share the house cleaning but now that she's gone, it's all left to mom, lol!!! Now I have full kitchen duty (without the cooking, hubby does that) bathroom duty (not liking that I have to clean 2 bathrooms) laundry duty (less loads is a plus) and vacuum duty (4bd, living & family room)
MOMS.... Just got a call!!!! As I was writing my post, my cell rang an (847) area code. My daughter couldn't talk long coz she wanted to also call her boyfriend...she said she shares a compartment with 92 other girls!!!! She said she likes it there and the girls all get along but They are not able to write until this Sunday.... She has not received any of our letters that we mailed to her (ours mailed out on 7/30) but she did receive letters from her boyfriend that sent all his letters by express mail!!!! So moms you may want to do that!!, My daughter passed the swim test and there is another test on Monday!
I am so relieved, Thank God! Hope you all get to hear from your daughters/sons!!!
Now back to my cleaning...,with a smile on my face!!!! Have a blessed day
Just call my 43 min call! My SR is in ship 12 div 349. So excited to hear his voice. He sounded great and made some new friends. He also has gained 11pounds of muscle. Can't wait to see him on 9/13/13.

I was so happy to hear my daughters voice today. She just loves it so far and she has made some new friends. She is glad with the decision she has made for herself. I can say I am very proud of the lady she has become.

Ship 12 Div 349, Finally got my phone call!!!!! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, just knowing she is okay. We talked for 35 minutes she was very emotional, mostly because she missed home, some from just "having to be on point from morning until night" her words. But she did reassure me several times that she was okay. From reading other posts it sounds like all our SR's are pretty emotional this week. And she is mailing letters tomorrow. Wow how a call can change your day!!

Received a call yesterday afternoon, 20min.  349 and 350 are integrated units combining males and females.  I believe the guys from both divisions share the same rack area and the same for the girls.  He loves it there, says he was made for this, he is a section leader, whatever that is.  He is one of the few who love it there, but he says all the guys are great and everybody is clicking.  He is not sick, feels great but will have one wisdom tooth removed later.  He says it is like being paid to go to summer camp. Be patient ladies your young girls and boys are growing into adults who will guard the seas and shores of the world.

I got my phone call from my daughter on sat while at work right when my client came in. couldn't talk long but she sounded so good. didn't want to hang up. she got to call her dad he was home so he got to talk to her longer. but he filled me in when I got home from work.  She said she received my letters but she wasn't allowed to send mail until sun or Monday. She likes her bed mates and surrounding mates. I didn't get a chance to ask her who her bunk mate was. Darn work getting in my way of talking to her. lol.  Cant wait to hear from her again.

Hi anyone with a child going to stay at GL for Machinist mate?

Ship12Div349: have a happy Monday! So glad to know our SRs mail will be sent out today, hoping we get our letters by the end of the week!

AMEN!!!!!

My SR told me on Saturday that she wrote me a very long letter to let me know how things have been going. She was very upbeat and positive. I am so glad I heard from her. The one thing she said was tough was after getting shots in the butt they had to walk about a mile in the pouring rain to their ship with their bag on there back. All I could picture was Private Benjamin and we both laughed :-) She is very happy and very healthy Thank the Good Lord!!!
