Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 351 and 352

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

We are staying at the Waukegan/Gurnee Residence Inn.  Currently we are reserved for 19-21 since we expect our son to have to fly out Saturday.  We'll stay another night if he doesn't fly til Sunday or Monday.  Planning to attend Sarge's Meet & Greet, haven't seen our PIR group date posted yet on his schedule. DeAnn, I know what you mean about airfare.  We needed five tickets since we are bringing his girlfriend to PIR, and decided just to drive up.  It's about 9 hours each way, but the time will go quickly.  We know it's a crap shoot for getting an extra seat at PIR, but at least the family will be there for the after party!

That would be great if you can get an extra ticket. it can always be watched online... i would have thought they would have an overflow section with a big screen or something.. but I guess not. The schedule is up for our PIR on Sarge's meet and greet. I think we will attend this as well. If we were only 9 hours I would drive too. But we are cross country.     So. California.  I found a red eye flight for 400.00 total for 2 of us. we will leave at midnight on the 18th and arrive early morning on the 19th. so if anything happens I'm not out that much money. I chose the Navy Lodge mainly because it has a full kitchen and because they will let us check in at 8am and not charge us for another night. I'm sure we will need a few hours sleep. We decided to stay longer in Illinois to catch a baseball game on Sunday and see a few sights since we are already going to be out there. I figured my son will fly on Saturday as well but if he doesn't then I will be one happy Momma :) I am hoping to at least go to the airport for a while and maybe visit a bit. Will have to wait and see what time his flight leaves and when. We should all have that information after battle stations but  before PIR I hope.

Hello all I am happy to say I received a letter from my SR today.

Thursday is my new favorite day of the week :) Got my first letter but it said read this one 3rd so maybe I have two more in the mail tomorrow :)

Okay,so did you read it or not?

Hey Pandabugz quick question for you, I saw you posted that our PIR has a facebook page and I went in to try and find and cannot can you assist me with that pleaseeeeeeee and thank you

I got another letter today to, this time it was for me! Still thought it was really sweet that the very first one was to our daughter. she is 8 and is having a rough time over his being gone. So far her teachers have all been great about making sure she knows she is loved and that daddy is awesome, they let her keep his picture in her desk to look at. I think she is only one at her school with family in the military (it's a REALLY TINY school...we have like, 150 students and I know pretty much everyone there, birthday parties are always a giant riot). But I was so happy to hear he is doing better, loves the PT but doesn't like the boots since they are still hurting him and the maxi pads aren't working as well as they thought they would apparently...he said he was picking paper from between his toes for an hour!!!

So glad everyone is getting letters. I'm hoping mine comes tomorrow. I'm too far from Illinois :( to get it quickly

Wish I could drive. we just bought a new car and are ready for a road trip in it.  My son is also div352. Where is your SR going for A school ?

Rraine, here's the link for the group.  It is a closed group so you may need to wait a day to get "approved" before you can post/see content.

bsiperko78, welcome aboard, ours is in 352 as well.  Sounds like they have a great division and some good staff as well.

We will be driving from Idaho...approximately 27 hours...for two PIRs 4 weeks apart.  But as you stated, this is cheaper than round trip airfare for four.

Bless your hearts, y'all should get some kind of medal for that.
