Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 345 and 346

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Ok, Moms and Dads - who else has an SR in one of these divisions? My daughter is in 345 so I assume 346 is the male division? How is everyone doing? My daughter is going to MA school in San Antonio after bc. How about your SR's?

My son is in 346.  His A school is in Pensecola.  He sounded great when I talked to him on 7/27.  My friend has a daughter in division 345.  She talked to her daught on 7/27 and again on 8/3.  I don't know if other guys got a phone call home on 8/3, but mine did not.  Little sad tonight.  Missing him terribly!!!

Hello! My son is in div 346. I have posted his ship & div on a couple of the groups, but have only seen one other post in same div. My son will be going to A school in Pensacola after BC. Rec'd first personal letter yesterday. He's doing very well!

I received a letter yesterday and my daughter sounded good too. It sounds like it is challenging but that she has met some really nice people. She wants to do well and is so excited to become a sailor. I think I have only met (online) one other person who has a daughter in my daughters division. Not sure why there are so few of us.

Hi.  My son is also in Div 346 and his A school is in Pensecola.  His job is ABH.  I also received my son's first letter last Thursday.  He sounds great.

My son is also in 346 with A school in Pensecola!!!

Talked to my son who is in Andrew's group yesterday.  I told him I had joined a group with other moms from his division and mentioned your name as Andrews mom.  He said he wishes he knew who Andrew is.  The recruits only know each other by LAST name.  He said he is going to try to locate him.  I know my son is with yours each day and that is itself is comforting.  My son is also going to A school in Pensecola.  He sounded rushed but great.

That's too funny!  I just wrote in a letter about someone's Mom named Texasproud  on N4M and asked if he had any buddies from Texas.  We are from  Phoenix, AZ.  My son is tall (near the back of line during marching) and wears glasses.  They probably know each other and don't realize it.

So happy you heard from your son.  We did not get a phone call or a letter this week.  He did call last Sat. (8/3).  Did you also hear from your son on Sat.?  I'm disappointed, but I keep trying to send something every day.  Looking forward to PIR.  Are you planning on attending?

Yes, we are planning on attending.  Since we have three kids attending with my husband and I, our  daughter will have to stay at the hotel because she won't have a pass to get in. :( My son also wears glasses.  I'm not sure where he is in marching, but I'll ask.    We are from Houston, TX.  I also write a letter to my son each day.  There are four guys in his division that get mail daily.  They have come to tease each other about who gets the most!  We did  not hear from our son on Saturday.  I was sad beyond belief... especially after a friend of ours received a phone call from her daughter on Sat.  We learned yesterday he was unable to call because he was standing watch.  I cherish each call and letter!!! I read on parent's post earlier that there will be no more calls until September 3rd. :(

I'm guessing my son is one of the four who gets mail daily!  I've written almost everyday and his aunts, grandmother and friends have also sent cards fairly regularly, too!

The 4 guest limit is very difficult for many families.  I have a cousin (former Marine) who lives in the area and would also like to attend, but we will use all 4 for immediate family.  We have reservations at the Residence Inn, so at least we can hang out with everyone after the ceremony.  I also read comment about Sept. 3rd and hope it's not that long...especially if my son doesn't write to us.  Still no letter today.

My son is going to try to find your son. So glad to have made this connection.  Hopefully more info will come to you in a letter or phone call.  Would love to chat the night before graduation at one of the gatherings.

I would love to share email address via a private chat, but I can't figure out how to do that on this site.  Are you on facebook?  There's a group of PIR 9/13/13 that you should join.  I think the link has been posted a few times...probably a few days back.
