Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 353 and 354

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Hi!  Our son is ship 03 division 354.  We're from Phoenix, AZ.  Luckily we received our first call last Saturday and we were both able to talk to our SR...such a relief to hear his voice!

Our Son's are in the same division ! We just received our first call as well on Saturday- I share your joy & relief as well! so happy for you!  We have relatives in Tucson & I'm an original desert rat from NV, now in WV.  So happy to see you here & glad u heard from your Son !!!

Our boys are together! Already counting the days until PIR :)

That's great to hear! We're having a big family get together this weekend- missing my Son already- 4 generations- printing up US Navy coloring pages- going to have everyone write something & make that his letter. He'd be drawing some artwork up if he were here- LOL it'll be a big surprise from all the family.  I'm rooting for your Son too & praying for division all the way through- every day :) have a great day- every hour is another one closer to seeing their face & hugging them :)

ProudPrayinMom wow that is wonderful... 4 generations writing to him.  That's a great idea!  :)  Hope ya'lls family get together goes well.  I am sure he will be missed by everyone.  I'm praying for them also!! Hoping we get letters this week but not holding my breath! lol

Hi bmnstarr!  Our sons our both in ship 03 div 354.  Where in Central NY do you live, My husband and I are originally from The Binghamton, NY area and still have relatives in Long Island.  We got another call yesterday, so surprised!!

Utica!!  that's around the corner from where I grew up - Endicott!  I sure miss the rolling green hills, not much of that in AZ.  Our SR seems to be doing pretty good, we got a 4 page letter and 2 calls so far.  We were told by the recruiter that the 1st letter home is usually depressing, how they hate it etc. the 2nd letter is more upbeat and by the 3rd or 4th they're excited and looking forward to graduation.  Hang in there mom, sure he's fine!

Our son is also ship 03 div 354.  That call last Saturday was a life saver for me!  Drastically changed my mood for the day.  We miss him very much.  We are from Sauk City, Wi so he's only a couple hours away.  Hard not to jump in the car and try to see him!

Hello all!  I'm hoping someone can answer this question.  In our Sat phone call our son mentioned he was put on "P" hold...can anyone explain this, and how it does not extend boot camp?  Thanks!

CNKAZ - when did you SR arrive? Mine arrived the 18th like several I know did but they had to wait for their division to fill so they were on P-hold until that happened.  I believe they actually started their P-days on the 23rd.  In a way it did extend their bootcamp because according to "normal" since my SR arrived the 18th he would normally have graduated 9/13.  But remember nothing is 'normal' in the Navy lol  Everything works they way they need it to.

He arrived July 18th as well.  In all the info I've seen, it says boot camp is 8 or 9 weeks so I guess  that's why!  I've actually been planning for a 9/20 graduation all along.  Just trying to follow along with the day by day boot camp regime so I can picture what he's going through! Miss him so much, as all you Mom's do...
