Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Teresa. You should receive your sons box and form letter in the next 2 weeks. The form letter will have his address and graduation date. I didn't receive a personal letter from my son until about week 3. We actually got a phone call that week as well. Any questions, ask away. :). Good luck to you and your son!!

Thank you.... How long has your son been in? how long is boot camp? will it be someone yelling at him all the time.... Sorry for so many questions.....

No problem at all. My son has been in one year August 21. Boot camp is 8-9 weeks. Yeah there is a lot of yelling but he will be fine. The first 2 weeks was the major adjustment period for my son. After that smooth sailing. The boys make friends quickly. How old is your son? Where is his school after BC ( boot camp) ?

That's wonderful news!!!!!!!!!! Kj is 18 this is his first time away from home. I know when he call last night he stated he was ready to get boot camp over with. Kj had already made friends on the way to boot camp. Once he finished he will be going to Florida. Thank you So much i don't feel alone now.

You are never alone. The site is great. Navy moms stick together. My husband was navy as well so I've had a lot of navy experience. Lol. My son has been in Japan since dec. he turned 20 there. It's a big adjustment.

Welcome Welcome to boot camp Theresa,
This is a very amazing site turn to others on here when you need it most. This site got me through some pretty rough days especially in the beginning. The first milestone is that form letter. And his box its very emotional but rely on the fact that he will be well taken care of. I had fear of the unknown and come to find out my son loves boot camp he said in his first letter it was fine and nothing as bad as he feared. He is almost done and every letter and call you receive gets more positive as they become stronger so don't we! Good luck -

Hi Teresa,
It's going to be hard for the next to week but it gets better. You slowly start used to not having him around and it only gets better from there. Start writing letters hun!!! -
