Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 345 and 346

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

We got a letter from my daughter on Thursday.  It was good to hear from her.  She sounded good in her letter.  She was never one much for seafood when she was home and says they serve lots of fish different ways, some good and some not so good.  She said she ate crab for the first time the other day and it was really good and she finished the whole thing!  I can't wait for her to come home so we can eat seafood together.

PIR is getting so close.  I can't wait for that day.  My daughter was going to try to get a position to be able to carry one of the flags at PIR.  That will be so exciting.  She says they are quite busy.  She says they don't get much time to talk and visit during the day so they do a lot of talking when it is time to go to bed.  They also get in trouble for it because they get too loud.  Sounds like summer camp!

26 more days ladies!  Getting more and more excited.  I talked to Texasproud the other day and we are so excited about the PIR coming up.

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Yay, they got paid! I checked my daughter's bank account and there was a check deposited! It will be a nice little nest egg as they head to A school. I know she will be wise with her money, she always has been. Are they paid once a month? Will there be any expenses for them at A school?

I am writing about every other day and today I sent pictures too. I was reading that it is ok to send the actual pics instead of copying them. Does anyone else know anything about that?

I know these days are dragging by for all of us and I am so curious as to what my girl is doing!

Yes, they got paid on the 15th.  They are paid 2 times per month (1st & 15th).  I've tried to read up on the deductions and allowances, but it's very confusing.

I've also sent photos (4x6) to my SR.  It must be fine because he just asked his brother for photos in his last letter.

According to my son's letter today, Div 346 was on training day 4-2 on Mon., 8/19.  He says they won't get another phone call until Sept.9th.  I hope they surprise them with one before then!

So glad you heard from your son.  I have heard nothing since Aug. 8. Looks like our son's are with Ryan at bc.  I hope you are attending Sarge's Meet and Greet on 9/12.  I would love to meet both of you ladies.

Yes, we are attending Sarge's Meet and Greet!  I'm also looking forward to meeting everyone.  I was planning to order and wear the ribbons with Div 346 on them, so we can identify each other.  Also hoping our flight is on time (2:30 arr. Midway), so we can get rental car, make the drive, and check-in to hotel all before it starts.

Thanks Andrewsmom for keeping us posted! So Friday should be 5-1 then.

My son called on Sat -- saying they just had their tests and inspections.  Also they had their rope test and his team did really well in the challenge.  I was caught by surprise by the call, since he said they would not call until Sep 3rd.  He was saying that they are getting really busy and the next few weeks will be the tough ones.

We are from Texas and I saw some of the other postings, whose family members are also in Div 346.

He will be going to A School in Pensacola and said that the schooling for ABH is backed up.

He told me to pass it along -- that they love getting letters and being caught up on all the goingson, since the days are so busy but the nights seem to be the longest for everyone.

Forgot -- he also told me:  They took their Division Photos and their

ID photos last week

He had given me the schedule of what they were going to be doing but I was so excited to hear from him -- that I had forgotten exactly what he said.

Thanks for the update. My son is with your son as best I can tell. Ship 11, Div. 346.  We are from Houston and will be attending PIR on 9/13 as well as Sarge's Meet and Greet on 9/12.  It looks like they will be attending ABH school in Pensecola together.  Do you know how much time we will have to spend with our sons after graduation?  I've heard it could be as little as 8-10 hours (Friday of graduation only).  Is this the information you have?  I would really love to have more time.

From what I've read, we'll probably have from 10:30am to 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday.  If they fly out on Sat., you'll have more time with them if you go to the airport (at 1:00am) to sit with them until their flight leaves on Sat.  I did read on the P'cola A school group on facebook, that sometimes some of the sailors don't fly out until Sunday.  I guess it depends on flight availability and they don't find out until a day or two before PIR.  In that case, the sailor had some liberty time on Sat. to spend with their family.  It would really be great, but I don't think we can depend on it.

Ryansmom, thanks for reporting the info on tests, etc... for their DIV!  My son has not said much about the group results.  He only said he got a 4.8 out of 5.0 on his own test.  I just sent another 'questionaire' with some of those other types of questions.  Hoping he answers it tomorrow and puts in the mail on Mon.!
