Hey girls,

My hubby went into boot camp on 8/7. I got his box and form letter and of course the "I'm here" call last week and the week before. It feels like it's been forever since I've heard from him even though it's only been 2 1/2 weeks. I have been writing everyday since he's left and my letters are positive and encouraging - I just really want to brighten his day there and be his support. I tell him how much I miss him, but I always sound upbeat and proud (cause I am proud!). But honestly it's starting to really be hard to not have any contact from him. I have been keeping myself busy. And this weekend my friend has come up to visit me and we have been going shopping together and getting pedicures and it's great! But I just want to hear from him SO BAD.

Is anyone else where I am right now? And will it get harder from here or is this the worst of it?

My SR has been gone since 7/18 and was in P-days for quite awhile. You should receive a couple of letters really soon or even a phone call unless his P-days have lasted a long time. I found that the first couple weeks are the hardest. Hang in there it gets better (at least for BC) You'll probably hear from him soon :]

I felt that same way when my sailor was at boot camp. For me some days were harder than others, but like you I have great friends and family that were there to help me through it. Believe me it does get better, you are doing the right thing by writing him!! I know he appreciates you being there for him and encouraging him. I'm sure you will hear from him soon, they can only write on Sundays or when they aren't sooo tired after a long day. He should be able to send you letters really soon, plus hopefully he receives a phone call soon. I know it's hard, but just know that when you see him at PIR it will be amazing!!! He is missing you just as much, but you being strong for him is what is getting him through boot camp.
Hi, I know exactly what you mean my bf has been gone since June, he has already graduated Bc and now in a school, my advice is try to stay busy!! I am 16 and going through it so you could only imagine.. When he was in BC it was Really hard but I always had the mind set he's doing it for the better of our future<3(: I wish you the best of luck!!!:)

Thank you all so much!!! It's crazy cause an hour or so after I posted this, HE CALLED!!!! We got to talk for 40 minutes! I've been giddy ever since!! He is doing really well and I'm so proud! He said he will be able to start writing tomorrow (Sunday). I feel so much better. :) It's crazy that when I felt like I couldn't take it anymore he called!! I'm really happy. :)

awwww :D yay!

My fiancee has been in since july and has his PIR soon, but keep writing and if you can scent his letters for him as a treat with your perfume as something familiar. It takes my letters roughly about 1.5 weeks (possibly longer depending on where you are located) Thankfully im in southern IL, and so his letters get to me by wed (they are only allowed to write on sundays) Keep sending the letters don't get discouraged ma'am keep a brave face and try to write as much encouragement into those letters as you can. I have had those days but he's focusing and getting his mind into gear and as hard as it is if you're not hearing from him means he is okay. He will probably get phone calls soon or even write you a letter and mail could be slow. Navy=Patience. I'm just starting this venture with my fiancee too and I'm terrified but I and countless other families are here to provide reassurance. I hope this helps you be at ease a little.

Wow, thank you very much!! I'm thankful to be part of a group of such strong, positive and supportive women! You are all amazing! :) Your recruits/sailors are very lucky men. ;) My man is worth every bit of the whole process to me.  And I know this whole thing is just making our love even stronger. I'm just really proud of him.
