It's a little early for the form letter. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).

Welcome!  Hope you are doing good so far.  Lots of good information on here and lots of good people to help you.

Welcome aboard salzarulosmom! Your reaction sounds much like my on. I'm glad you're along for the journey. There are so many good people here who ask great questions and share helpful insights.

Hello all :) I am new to this site so I'm still trying to figure it all out. My boyfriend also left (well actually arrived) in Great Lakes on August 21st. He is going for Air Traffic Control. Does anyone happen to know the expected graduation date?

By counting 9 Fridays, the most likely PIR date will be 10/18/2013, but it could also be 10/25/2013 depending on when his division formed. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC,

Since your SR has a contract for Air Traffic Controlman (AC), join Air Traffic Controller Moms, Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for AC can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ac.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend once you get the form letter.

we got our box on Friday, we were not home so I went and picked it up at the fed ex place. the man looked at me funny because I cried a little. I looked at my daughter and said to her here is your brother in a box and that worried the man a bit. he asked what it was so I explained it to him. we are hoping for the letter by Friday, went past the recruiter this morning to drop some books off and he looked up our son's address on the computer. i'm going to write a letter, but not mail it till I get the form letter. I find my self sitting in bed at night and thinking about him and start to cry, i'm trying to be strong for my daughter so she doesn't miss him too bad. counting the days till we get to hug him again. i'll be the crazy mama at pir that is going to run so fast to get to my son that I will probably run people over, I won't see anybody but my son.

My son left on August 21...looking to connect with other mothers going through this experience too and maybe meet at PIR :)

Hi Tabitha, my son left on the 21st also.  Got the box today, only had his clothes, shoes and phone in it with some misc. papers.  Felt really bad, another mom I've connected with on here got her daughters wallet back with the pictures she sent!  Hope you got your box or it's coming soon.  Just waiting on the form letter now :-)

Hi Tabitha, my son left on the 21st as well. This is a good site to make connections. If it works out it would be great to meet at PIR. :)

Hi Lisa,

That is very exciting!  I just checked the mail and still no form letter :-(  What is your son's PIR date?

Wow, left the same day but different PIR's.  My son's PIR is 10/25/13 and Ship 03.

Happy you got it too, that's great news!  Does it come regular mail?
