For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 345 and 346
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Thanks for the for the info. Just wrote my son that I'm communicating with three other recruit's moms from his Div. I'm thankful we can share info and support. It seems each of our recruits give different info. Mine sounded exhausted the last time he called.

I am writing my son now, telling how we are all communicating and keeping each other posted. I think they just give us what they think is important to them at the moment. They are so busy and so caught up in what they are doing at the moment, plus they try to get it all in and I am sure somehow miss some of it along the way.
The day they PIR, is the same day my daughter has Homecoming for her senior year. She decided that seeing her brother is more important, so as not to spoil it for her. We ordered her Mum and she will be taking it with her to have her pics taking with her brother and his friends after PIR, trying to bring a lilbit of home to them also.

Yep, correct, AndrewsMom; Most of the sailors will fly out on Saturday. They only fly out on Sunday when they can't get flights on Saturday. Just depends. We suggest that all stay through the weekend just in case!
Don't forget ID if heading to the airport to wait with your sailors. In the past, we have had posts on here where some in a sailor's family group forgot their ID and couldn't get through security.
When my son was up there, he had until 9 pm on Friday (but he said it was because they earned Hall of Fame honor....said most others had to be back at 8 pm). They have to return to their ships after PIR concludes for a little while, but usually are done within 30 minutes or so...and then they are free to leave on Liberty! Just don't be shocked if your sailor wants to return to RTC early to make sure he/she isn't late! My son insisted on being back 45 minutes early...it takes them a while to walk back to their ships (even if dropping off on the base which you can do if you have the gate pass). The Navy's slogan? If you are on time, you are LATE! :-)

Your welcome. A 4.8 is great according to my son.
I have been following along with the videos of what they do the different weeks, I have not heard from his this week, as of yet, usually the letters arrive on Thursday.
As for Liberty -- I have found out, we will see them Friday and the only downside is if they stand guard, then they have to report for guard and then they can go again until they have to be back. They will have this information, hopefully before we get there or we just play it by ear (as they say). We are soon to be Navy Mom's and as he told me -- we have to go with the flow.

DID any of your son's mention that they earned the academic flag last week? Not 100% sure what that means but sounds like we have some smart guys sure hope it earns them an extra hour of liberty on PIR day

Still haven't heard from my son by phone or mail since August 8th. Reallly missing him. I'm grateful other mother's are posting the demands being made on the recruits and what they have been up to or I would be going insane from worry.

I haven't heard a peep from Austin. I have no idea how he's done on any tests. It's like he's fallen off the face of the Earth. :(

They must be too busy to write. I had sent Andrew a large priority mail envelope, folded inside another envelope, to send his mail back. (I had read about this suggestion somewhere on here). Well, I got the priority envelope today with lots of cards & letters we had sent, but not a single thing from him. Not even a quick note or my recent questionnaire.
I, too, look forward to hearing any news from the Moms of SR's in this Div.!

Div 345/346 moms and dads, I found out when they are doing battle stations but I apparently can't put it out there so I'm not going to (I don't want to jepordize their safety) but I will be sending it to diannep so that she can make a list of what div and when! So good to hear from my girl, she sounds great!
