My son was sent to ship 5 on July 2nd after falling out of his bunk the friday before and labelled as a sleep walker. He is still there and getting very frustrated to see others coming in and leaving before him. Are there any suggestions? He had his old job back, but now they wont hold it any longer as its been more than 3 weeks. This is extremely frustrating for all of us. He hates ship 5 and says that there are soo many trouble makers, that they make the place pure hell.

My daughter called me very upset because she answered she missed home on the bubble test. I had about 5 minutes to talk to her and have not heard a word. It did not sound like her and now I am freaking out because I have no clue what she is doing- Or if people are mean to her! Please give me some advise.
Beckie
please go to fb and look up ship 5 seps group...very good info in that group..will help you all out tremendously
The military counts being homesick as a forum of depression. Weather it is or not is not in question here. The thing is they separate people in bootcamp if they can not deal with the separation. There are numbers above that you can call...BUT if your daughter did not sign the paper work for anyone to talk to you on base, they will NOT be able to give you any information. Next time you talk to your daughter ask her to sign the privacy and HIPPA paper work.
Not sure what you mean by "or if people are mean to her!" It is the military, people get yelled at all the time. Even while she is in separations for the 3-5 weeks it takes to get them sent home, she will still be treated as a recruit even though she is being sent home.
I have spoke to her several times. She is always upset and crying. She called today and this is her 3rd week in Ship5-
She cant sleep and said there are lots of people who bully her. I am so upset and stay awake at night worried to death something or someone is going to hurt her.
I just want her to come home. I have lupus and all the stress is making me very ILL!!
Any suggestions
Cody: I am so sorry. If you speak to him again, make sure that he has signed a waiver allowing you and your husband to speak to the "powers that be" up there re: his case if need be. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to get any info on your side. You would then be allowed to speak directly to Legal with any concerns you have. Until your son signs this waiver, they can give you no info. Hopefully he has done this anyway. Please read through the info on this site since the ladies who posted it have much more insight than I do. I know it is not easy for those in Ship 5 until they are finally sent home....lots of prayers that his time there won't be long. Did he give you an address to write to? If so, I would be writing lots and lots to keep his spirits up. There is life after separation....he needs to know that. Just keep reminding him that he will be ok. If he plans to re enlist one day, his type of discharge code is very important. Blessings to you all and your son during this process.
Hi Gohorselfly
Has any of this been resolved? Has he gone home yet? How's he doing now?
NavyMomYve: I'm so very sorry. Be sure to post on the main Ship 5 page (not just here in a discussion group) too so more will see your post. When you hear from your daughter again, be sure to ask her to sign a waiver to allow you to talk to the powers that be up there...if you need to. Otherwise, the Navy will handle it just with her. She will meet with Legal and so has a chance to challenge and appeal their decision. Prayers for your daughter...and for you.
