Our son is in Corpus now, has been there since early April.  I'm wondering if there are any moms out there whose kids are in approximately the same stage?  How's it going for them?

done Primary, selected Helos! back to FL soon

Hi, first time replying on this site. My son is in Pensacola, heading to Corpus next week for Primary. Wants to fly Helos. He's trying to find a house to rent with a couple of buddies, but the process hasn't been too easy.  Any thoughts or suggestions to pass along?

Hi UNM Sean's mom,
My son has been in Primary at Corpus Christi since late May. If you have any questions I would be happy to try to answer them. Best wishes to your son. Nancy

UNM Seans' mom - congratulations! my son has been in Corpus since early summer. We also live in Texas but have not seen him as often as we expected. Housing didnt seem to be a problem for him. And the base and local police are very aggressive in schooling them on the problems with gangs in the area. I really appreciated that. The frustrating thing is the system of maintaining the planes. Most of he flights get cancelled because there is not a plane ready or the plane is not safe. Frustrating for him and it slows down the whole process. Would be happy to answer any questions.

Hi Rockmom, I've heard almost half the pilots are selected for Helos so your son has a good chance to get what he wants. I wish him well, Nancy

If you would like to follow your LO's progress through Primary go to  http://www.cnatra.navy.mil/tw5/squadrons.asp  Click on "Schedules" in the left column.  On the new page Training Air Wing 4 (Corpus Christi) is on the lower left.  Just select the name of you LO's squadron to view the schedule page.  On this page you can click on "View Schedule" to see the entire schedule or type in your LO''s name and click on search.  To see a different date just select the date on the left side of the page and again view or search.

Josh is at Corpus Christi. He starts classes September 23rd.  He's coming home next week for a few days before class. Miss him so much, just can't wait to see him.

My son has been in CC since the end of May also. There weren't many places for rent when he was looking. He did find a nice place on the island.

My son is on the island too. and since June. surely not roomates???

aggiemom and jamielss,

Are either of your son's in the Boomers?

YES!!!  VT-27!

Yes - i think there are several of us. Sounds like things are going well there except there are not enough planes for them to get their flight time in. it is really dragging out.
