For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I handed my son over to his recruiter 9-11 in Utah. He flew to boot camp on the 12th from Utah and I received the last phone call the evening of the 12th. My house is so empty. Trying to adjust to my empty nest but at the same time I am so proud of my son and his decision to join the Navy. Still having trouble getting over the fact that he won't be coming through the door. I too miss him soooo much.

Something cute to share with everyone. My 12 year old son has been wearing my sons PT shirt almost everyday. He decided to go into his brothers room and get his baseball equipment out and use his cleats which are size 10.5 not the 8 he is. His way of being close to him. lol.

The phone call we got the 11th at 10:47 wasn't even 10 sec but we were expecting it. He called before he got on the plane in Charlotte and then in Chicago before he went to eat. I've been a little out of it but from what I understand, this would essentially be day one for him. I can't believe some of you have gotten the boxes already...

We are in Sacramento, CA. and we have not received my sons box yet. We did get the phone call once he arrived there. He was excited and sad at the same time. He said the place looked amazing.

My son also left on 9/11. Did get a 30 second call on night of 12th. He sounded enthusiastic, and I hope he is remaining that way. I'm in Carlsbad, CA. Where are you located? Hope to talk more soon.

MrsL- my Husband shipped out on 9/11 from San Diego and on Wednesday we got his box. We are still patiently awaiting for his form letter and his second call home.

I finally got a call from my son yesterday! Have you heard anything from your son? I talked to him for less than a minute. I miss him even more than before. What is the "box" that everyone is talking about?

My son left on the 11th as well and I too am reading as much as I can on this site. It has been a bit overwhelming for me and I'm worried....I've been cleaning his room and organizing his clothes in the drawers....how weird is that! The 30 sec call was very hard for me...even though I was prepared for it. I cannot wait to hear his voice again.
