Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 397 and 398

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello to all ship 12 div 397 mom's/g/f's & fiances.  U all have been quite a blessing! Now that I am figuring out how to navigate my way around the site and all.  It's nice to kno that my SR is around what appears to be a pretty good group.  His initials are JM & his A school is in Pensacola (Aviation Structural Mechanic) so obviously wud like 2 kno if any of your SR's mite actually know of him.  He mentioned 2 SR's that he apparently hangs out with - 1 is Hawaiian & the other is Persian. He has been able 2 call & get thru 2 his g/f & admittedly she's been real good at keepin me informed. He told her that he is a Stick 1.  I've only rec'd 1 letter to date but he has said that being there has opened his eyes to alot.

Suppose this sounds quite crazy but wud appreciate any suggestions in how 2 hook-up w/our SR at PIR u kno after the ceremony is over.  11 div w/approx 88 SR's + RDC & staff - that's alot of people w/o havin cell phones (LOL)  thanks  :)

Anybody know how long liberty is for after graduation? Is it only 1 day or the whole weekend?

Can only share what I've read - appears it depends on where yr SR's A school is. SR reporting to A school @ GL may have 2 rpt after graduation 1st b4 being granted liberty.  My son's A school is @ Pensacola so I'm under the impression that  his liberty can last between 7 (1900) & no later than 9 (2100)  but that it'll take him at least 1/2 hour 2 get bk to his ship.  Unfortunately we may not really know specifics til closer 2 PIR if not on graduation day bcuz of scheduled departure dates & times 2 A school.

My nephew graduated in April and he only got to spend about 6 hrs. with his parents. He went to Connecticut. My son will be going to Pensacola for A-school. Initials K.C. He is also petty mail officer for our division.

What is KC's rate? as my SR (JM - stick 1 last I heard) is also going to Pensacola 4 A school for Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I haven't gotten the opportunity 2 speak w/him as I have encouraged that he learn 2 communicate w/his g/f.  She's been real good at letting me kno when she's talked 2 him.  As best that I cud understand from her conversation w/my SR there may b a delay in leaving GL 4 A school.  Has KC mentioned anything about this?

I don't really know what his rate is. He is going to Pensacola for aviation electronics tech. He has said nothing about a delay. He said he would probably leave out Saturday. I forget everything I want to ask when we are on the phone, the calls are too short and he wants to talk so I mostly listen. He doesn't write much, hoping to get a letter soon answering some of my questions.

I haven't actually had the opportunity 2 speak 2 my SR as he has called his g/f but then I don't blame him as I am not as att'd 2 my cell phone as their generation appears 2 b.  Desi has also said that when he has called he does most of the talking so I do understand.  She even said that shud he call her again she wud try & 3-way.  Aviation Electronics Tech - sounds pretty interesting & that is KC's rate.  If there's 1 thing that I've realized dealing w/the military it tends 2 b a hurry up & wait kind of situation as well as so many unknowns from time 2 time.  It was my understanding that those shippin out to A school usually do leave the day after graduation.

Looking forward to PIR!

Ship 12 Div 398  Nuke!

Good afternoon! What does it mean when our division gets no flags? Is this crucial?

Amani being prior military I can only say that certain flag privileges r earned & 4 SR's its more a matter of pride 2 b able 2 carry the flags that they earned 4 the recognition of doing at that it took 2 get them.

Gd morning Ship 12/Div 397 family.  Tryin 2 find family of a couple of SR's in this Div that my son has referred 2 often.  Unfortunately I only have last name initials  1 is C and is of puerto rican descent and the other is an I and believe he is of Hawaiian descent.  My SR recognized C from a Carnival cruise out of NYC - if that is of any help.  thanks.

Hello ladies
My sr is in division 398 ship 12.
I've not heard from him in a while!
Can someone tell me how they are doing!
