DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son left 9/11 and I was lost and scuttling around and a beautiful navy mom is pointing me in the right direction! Thanks from the bottom of my heart lemonelephant! I love direction and even though I'm still lost in the unknown stage I feel better. I never received a call from him the first night but no news is good news so I'm holding on to that. Would love to know if other mothers received that call and at what time. I'm looking forward to receiving the box and most of all the form letter. Right now I'm writing him everyday and saving them! I'm so proud of him but miss him dearly. Looking forward to connecting with other moms !

My Husband reported to MEPS on 9/11 but was told he wouldn't ship out until 5:30 a.m. on 9/12. His plan left San Diego international airport at 8:30 a.m. and he arrived at O'Hara Airport at 12:21 p.m. At about 5:30 p.m. I got the "I am here phone call" and I haven't heard from him since.

We are still waiting for the box to arrived and his first letter.

I am so very proud of my husband I keep telling myself "this is his first deployment"

Hi Darcie.....my son left also on 9/11/13.  He is ship 14 division 426.  How are you holding up? I've gotten so much support on here, it's great!

I received my son's box and the form letter with his address two days ago, on Monday....he hadn't even been there a week yet!  Lots of letters went in the mail!  :)

Also we are in Chicago suburbs so maybe that's why mine came so fast. If anyone needs help navigating the Chicago area if you come into town, don't hesitate to ask me!

Mine son left on 9/11 still didn't get anything

At 11:58A.M. today I got my box!!!!!

Ok...I'm a little frustrated.  Son left on 9/11, received kid in a box on 9/17...and NO LETTER.  How long does it take?  I'm so pathetic that last night I listened to some voicemails on my phone to hear his voice and his standard sendoff...."love you, bye".  I feel like that girl waiting by the phone for the boy to call in high school!

My daughter left on the 10th and we haven't gotten her form letter yet. I'm expecting it this week, I hope! We did get her ship and division number from her recruiter so that's comforting to at least know.

We received our letter today! My son is Ship 14 Div 425 with a grad date of Nov 8. Anyone else in this group? So excited to finally have an address to write to!

I got my son's letter today!  He is on ship 02 Div 952

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 952 is Ship Staff/Honor Guard. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) while you are there and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well.
