Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Gift Idea for Recruit
Hi All,
We are having an Anchors Aweigh Party for my son next weekend (He is leaving for BC October 2).
I wanted to be able to give him something and thought I'd share the idea I came up with for all of you!
I am going to bring a small bible to the party and a highlighter and pens. Each guest can mark a passage or leave him a note in the bible. This way when he is feeling alone and needs some inspiration he will have a book full of support from all of his friends and loved ones right there with him!

That's a great idea ! Mine also leaves Oct 2 (MEPS) - flight is Oct 3. His party is next weekend as well. I also have been telling people phone cards, cash, gift cards to Best Buy. I heard he will need a decent laptop in A school - hopefully we can purchase one here @ home & take it to PIR so he'll have it in Pensacola.
I had to ask my mom (and I am over 50 by the way ) if it was appropriate to ask - I never planned gifts as part of the party....I couldn't really think of what to say when the first few relatives asked what he needed....

My son leaves Oct 1st. I am having a party for him this coming weekend.......great idea on the bible and highlighter.
I bought mini bubbles and we made little scripts with the word bubbles and every letter in the word had a encouraging note
I think it is going to be lots of fun, for all of his friends to express in a fun and upbeat way that they will miss him.
