Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 950

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Yummy!!!!!!!!  If you can find that up there let me know haha

Fantastic to hear updates.....I drove up in the driveway already in a great mood from getting letters yesterday morning and low and behold the 847 #.......I sat in the driveway for the first 20 minute call.  She had already talked to her boyfriend, first time she has talked to him since she left.  I was #2 which was fine but first thing I said after omg how in the world are you I am so surprised is everything ok.........how much time do we have to talk.  I was a little bummed at the fact about the boots as well.......they put her in shin splints after having run through xrays.  She said if I can just get some insoles I am golden.  having to wait until Monday to get them.  She did say one girl had to go twice before they let her have any.  She was upset she is so ready to be back in the swing of things Monday.  The newer division she referred to as the baby division and said they were quite messy and almost cost them to fail inspections.....she said thank goodness for the division were mirrored a week plus ago, they gave us great tips on quick cleans and helped us out a lot.  I think you are right about firearms, I mentioned it and they way she was breaking it down they were on week 3.  I had planned on us sitting in upstairs for PIR but she said we had family seating reserved?  Anyone's SR mention this yet?  She said another week until they MIGHT get to go to Nex, she wanted mini body wash shampoo and deodorant............I thought they were able to get that there and we weren't able to send 'care packages'??  Also in case no one has thought about it or they mentioned payday for them should be 1st.although after she mentioned how much uniforms costs I about croaked haha.  Well at least she will make plenty to cover all of that haha.  She said they may get calls Sunday but not guaranteed especially with the a bunch being sick or on LLOD for a couple of days.  She got caught doing workouts and Chief said look Alabama...........do I need to tie you up for you not to work out haha she said she needs more PT just doesn't seem to be enough.

I was so happy to get a call friday from my SR we talked for 44 minutes!  He sounds good and said he has made many friends and is starting to "enjoy" basic.  It was a relief to actually talk that long to him and find out how his days are going.  He even said he thinks that he will be able to call again on Sunday.  can't wait!

a few minutes ago got off the phone with my boy. He got to talk to his sisters as well. they actually sounded excited about talking to their big bro (because god forbid any of them get along when they are in the same room) lol. he said hes making friends and that he was really excited to perform at his first pir and he sounded heven better this time compared to last weeks call. Im super excited and will have to look for him when they perform again-now that i know what flag hes holding, for now anways. He said that could change tho as they are still shifting people around.

I didnt get but one letter out this week as it was a crazy filled week at home and at work. (I blame it on the full moon). so i spent what little time i had stocking up on letters to send to him. i am trying to get his friends to call me so i can give them his address-so far only one person has gotten ahold of me. :( he had sent me a list of friends to give his address to. ans when i talked to him he asked if i was able to get info to his friends back home. Im going to have to keep pestering them via fb until they call me to shut me up. lol

For those of you who have been looking for a USS Reuben James PIR challenge coin, they just got more for Ship 2 in stock at http://www.ebay.com/itm/USS-Reuben-James-Ship-2-US-Navy-Recruit-Tra...  . I just bought one so our SR will be prepared for the challenge the next time she meets up with her uncles (both retired CPOs)..

I snatched mine up just now..........thank you so much for that link and letting me borrow your idea!!!

Missed live streaming, but have been watching the video at

Flags line up where you can see them well at about minute 32.

I swear that's my girl, carrying the Rhode Island state flag.  Sure hope it is her 'cause I bawled when I saw her, I was so happy and proud.

we watched he PIR graduation yesterday--our grandson was carrying the Wisconsin flag and we watched it about 4 times just so we could see him--they looked great !

I watched it again and was sure she was the SR carrying the Rhode Island flag.  I recognized the way she carried herself and marched.  Then this afternoon I got a letter from her.  She told me she had switched from Minnesota to Rhode Island.

I went out and got waterproof eye makeup, because I'm going to need it at PIR.

My son is in this division too! He is carrying a state flag.  Do they perform at their own graduation?  We are trying to figure out were to sit.  Getting so excited!!!

Hi!  Yes, Div 950 is going to perform at their own graduation, too.  Did you get to see your son on the live streaming/video?  I've seen my daughter on there, both 10/11 and yesterday.  She stood in the same place, with the same state flag (RI) both times.  I've heard they divided the stands into sections so each division's family can be closest to where they are standing. When the flags are not marching, they are in the center of the hall.  I hope we can sit across from where our SR's will be.

Me too!!  Yes I have seen my son in both performances.  To me, he looked a little pale, but I'm used to seeing him with his life guarding tan.  If all is the same as last week, we will be trying to sit just right of the center facing the graduates as that is where WI has been for the last 2 weeks.  I hope that carrying a flag does not delay them much from seeing us as I'm sure they must return them before seeing their loved ones.
