Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 423 and 424
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I thought I would share some info! My daughter is in ship 12 div 423. She told me her RDCs are all male, so the female SRs have to wear shorts under everything. She also told me that they were taught how to make beds and that once they came in from marching and all the beds were tore apart. Someone didn't make theirs right. My SR said when they are screaming in your face its real hard to remember the 11 general orders. But she also said the RDCs showed a lot of humor. She's excited about learning to fire a weapon, and the fire fighting. They eat well, but no talking during meals and marching, which is when she thinks of home the most. They are making her drink her weight in water since she was a bit dehydrated at the start.
She's going on to her A school in San An. TX and she is already an EMT. Her and her dad are volunteers at our local fire dept so she wanted to get a jump start on what she would be learning. :) My SR is 18 and other than being homesick is very positive about what the Navy will teach her!
Wonderful! My daughter told me that aside from the girl drama, lol, everyone gets along pretty well and are working together as a team. They make mistakes but are learning from them :)
It was great hearing from my SR on Saturday. He sounded great, He told me and his dad that he felt proud and official talking to us in his uniform that made me even more proud of him then I already am. I am hoping to hear from him again soon. It is nice to hear that other kids are having a positive experience also.
I just came across this slide show on here, not sure if anyone else had seen it so I thought I would share. It was VERY helpful in understanding the ships and divisions and also where they are staying.

Normally I feel pretty good. I had saved a voicemail from her and I listen to it occasionally. She's said not to worry about her, that she's doing good. But I'm feeling a little blue today.......hoping for a letter today or tomorrow. Being from MO it shouldn't take long to get here.
I got 2 letters today! They were far to short and made me miss my daughter like crazy! The 1st was written on the 11th, and then the 22nd after her call home last Saturday. Overall she is doing ok but gets sad at night and that's when she wishes she was home :( but she said it will be easy making friends with the girls in her division. They are only allowed to write on Sundays, and if they get caught at other times, their writing letters will get taken away. She wrote a lot of "Thank you for believing in me and giving the love and support I needed to be who I am today" making me cry! I wish I knew right now how she was doing today! Oh and she told me she has already spent over $800 on all the things she was required to buy.
