boomMom ..maybe this will help.. it helped me... understand a bit more. :-)
did anybody know if Pir on thanksgiving weekend is on Wednesday, instead if Friday?? cause I read they have PUR every Friday?? trying to plan ahead but now confused how does it work.. meet and greet on Tuesday? Wednesday Pir? then? does he come home?

I can't remember where I saw it, but on Thanksgiving week, PIR is always Wed., I would assume that what ever would normally be  Thurs/Fri would then be Tue/Wed.  The newly graduated sailors would be permitted (always subject to change) "liberty" for Thanksgiving.  They have to be back at the base by a specific time (times will vary).  I will look for the site with the information on it and post the link. :)

Any info. of update on the Thanksgiving weekend PIR?  I read most likely Wednesday and that we MAY get some time on Thanksgiving with them (would be awesomeI).  I wonder also, if he is staying at GL for 3 more weeks after PIR, if we might get any additional time over the weekend.  To be determined I guess.  Also I read somewhere that the Navy Gateway only takes reservations 30 days in advance by phone, but 60 by internet... Anyone know if this is true.  Thanks!
