For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

We are in IL. My son is definitely ready to go, as he's had to deal with an injury delaying his leave. I am very excited for him and have told him when he has seen me cry, it is only because I'm going to miss him, and because I am so very proud of him!

thorgirl17, I think I would probably have a harder time if I knew I was within just MINUTES of my child!! I am in Central IL, but still at least within driving distance.
Yep, they will probably see me circling Great Lakes on my lunch hours trying to see my baby ;)

Getting caught up on this thread - since we only recently learned my son leaves 10/2...dannysmom and GennyMac, my son will also be 800 division...not sure if yours both still have the same date...
What area of the country are you in? My son leaves 10/2 from Western New York.
