As Barefoot so nicely said - You are NOT alone.  We are all feeling this way, I think.  So hard to let him go even though I do believe it is a wonderful thing for him. Ours is the baby - the little brother who has been the Prince since the day I brought him home & his 10 year old brother thanked me for getting him his own brother.  We will be having Thanksgiving Sunday dinner on Sun , my SR will leave on Wed and our family will have to re-form.  We can do this, we are strong, BUT it hurts like nothing I've ever done before. I can't imagine what the next 9 weeks will bring for me, but I'll stay on the roller coaster and try to smile, because that's what my family will need.

Big hug to you Thorgirl and all the other Moms that are on the ride with us.  We'll be ok - at least that's what the Veteran Moms have led me to believe :)

Thank goodness for this page and a way for all of us moms to connect!!

You all have said it very well. I'm so thankful for this place. It helps knowing we are all going through this at the same time.
Love to you all! Enjoy the last 1-2 days.

The hardest part is not being able to talk to him for almost 2 months!!  I am hoping that it is better in A school.  When my oldest went into the Air Force, I was able to Skype with him everyday when he was in school after boot camp.  My fingers are crossed that the Navy is the same!

O my gosh thorgirl179 . I'm not much of a writer. Lol but you have said it !! Lol. my son too is the big brother, first born. And I have been on this wacky emotions roller coaster. He leaves 10/2 as well. I think if all the sons that will be there that day with each other. And us moms will get each other through this. And all meet soon. :). We are spending most every spare moment with him and pumping him up. He signed in February and it has FLOWN by. Whew. I can't believe it's here!! We can do it!!! Sitting here at my daughters softball practice near the airport watching an airplane take off ever 3 or 4 minutes. Another mound on this coasterof emotions. :). And the sooooo full of pride can't even be described!!
Yep we are all in the same boat ;)
It is awesome to connect with other mom s going thru the exact same thing!!
I am sooo. Glad for this site I have learn so much already. Make me few a BIT more secure on getting us all prepared fir the upcoming weeks. :).

My son leaves tomorrow for the hotel, then onto GL Wed., having such a terribly hard time tonight, especially since his girlfriend is here and i can't have him all to myself.

My son goes to the hotel tomorrow  and to GL on Wed too!! He is hanging out at his friends house :(

I don't know why I am having a hard time, this is not my first rodeo!  lol.   My older son went to Air Force boot camp two years ago.  Maybe because this one is my "little guy".  I only have the two kids.  The older guy is a Reservist, and this one is full time (maybe that is what is causing my distress).  Hang in there, it is going to be tough, but we can do this as Moms, we all are going to have to motor on.  Our kids will be in good hands and we can all look forward to PIR!    We are all here to help each other through this.

Mine too - hotel tomorrow (Wed) MEPPS Thurs & on to GL.  Hang in there ladies :)  My heart is hurting & my anxiety is awful, but he appears calm & ready to start.  Ohhhhmmmm

Mine too. He seems ready. We had a full day yesterday of one more day wake surfing brrrrrrr. Water is getting chilly in Missouri. :). Then indoor go cart racing and dinner with his closest friends. He seems ready for his journey too. Make me even more proud !! ⚓ I can't believe this day is here!!! Gotta turn my phone up!! And Velcro to my arm. Lol.

So, ladies... who knows WHAT about the shutdown and whether MEPS is still on for 10/3 ?
