For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 407 and 408
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Our daughter is staying in the Great Lakes for her A school so that is why we were not sure if we could just bring her some things along? Thanks so much for all your help!!

I would say it depends on how long you are planning to stay there and how long her A school is. If you are going to be there longer than the weekend it would let her get settled into her new "ship". Then she can pick up the stuff from you. They cannot have any of it while still in the BC ship. Also, if her A school is less than a month it probably would be better to wait. Like I said, she would just have to worry about trying to get all of that stuff packed up and to the new base. For me it was a little easier because I took leave during Christmas and went home, picked up my car, and drove back. When it came time for my first base, I just packed everything into my car. I know some of the Navy A schools do not allow them to have their cars at the beginning. I hope that answers your question.

Skyeheart, You sound full of information. And stories are similar. Sorry I am on a lag keeping up here. I work in politics in Florida and theres a lot going on here, so hope no on thinks I am not paying attention. I want to be there for RTC, but I just got a new project which is huge and if I make it to graduation, it will be a miracle!!! True about letters. I think they like getting them. I sure hope I don't miss the graduation in Great Lakes... I wanna meet all the moms and the daughters!!! xoxo

I feel for you. I now work for the DOD as a civilian and we were on furlough. We were recalled on Monday so it's been pretty hectic around here too! We have to make up for missed deadlines. We just found out they don't know for sure we are still getting paid for the missed time like the news says (kind of dumb if we do, makes the furlough kind of pointless) but they are sure that we will not receive our annual and sick leave accruals for the pay period because this furlough time added to our furlough time over the summer kicked us over so many hours. Gotta love it!
Anyway, the cards and letters definitely help. My daughter sent a letter saying thank you because they are helping to motivate her to get through. It's so close now. I can't wait!

Hello Everyone,
I'm Tammy, Proud Navy mom of my son, whom I am told goes by the nickname "Bruce". He is currently at boot camp at Ship 11 Div 408 and graduates on Oct 25. He will then be shipping out on Oct 26th to his "A" school in Groton, CT as SECF (Submarine Electronics/Computer Field). I had hoped he would get to come home for a short time before shipping out, no such luck.
My son tells me that he is doing well and has met some pretty awesome people that he already considers close friends. I have talked with him a few times on the phone and he sounds absolutely great!! Anxiously awaiting graduation, I miss him terribly and I can't wait to give him a great big hug!!
Wanted to send a big shout out to all the Navy Mom's!! I absolutely love this site......:)

Hi Everyone!! I love that there is a separate chat for these two divisions!! Does anyone know where I can find information about what all we need to do/have for PIR. I think I saw something about times and such somewhere but this site has soo much info it's hard to keep track! :)
