No there was someone that was saying it was unsafe to send a pie- cake in a jar not long ago!  I have sent them before and as long as they seal there should not be a problem...  I even held one at home to test it a couple of weeks later...  was just fine!

Chelita, really, 300 pies in a jar??  We better all get busy ordering boxes and bubble wrap!!

BTW, yes you can drop them off at my house.  Will they already be packed?  Just wondering.  I will be away until Monday, 10/14, so any day after that will be fine.  Give me a call when you get a chance and let me know what you'd like to do!

You might want to pack the jars in new socks!!  That is what I do with mine... then they get socks and cake!!

Chelita, we will have to remember to put in some of the can openers that pry the lids off!!  Just putting it here so you can help me remember and we can put it on the Massachusetts page.  So much going on in my head, I'm afraid I'm going to forget something important ...  lol

Thanks everyone, you are awesome!

Chellita, how do you make the pie in a jar? That is so much fun. Pat L. Can you get the donation letter to her?

For the cake/pie in a jar instructions, go to the Molly's group page and scroll down to the topics right below the members pictures. It is there.

Massachusetts Navy Moms have a packing party planned for Saturday, October 19th.

We are planning on sending some decorations for Thanksgiving, cookies, bars, candy and of course "Pies in a Jar".  We will include some Thanksgiving-theme napkins.  And, of course, put in a few footballs -- footballs and Thanksgiving just go together.

If it is OK with you Tammy B., we were hoping to include Christmas cards that they could write and send home to their family and friends.  I was planning on asking the women's group at the church I attend for any unused, left-over from last year Christmas cards.  Also, with Hallmark's buy 1 get 1 free deal on even boxed Christmas cards I'm hopeful that we will have quite a few.  This special even applies to the boxes of 40 cards.  I hope to get 80 cards for the price of 40!!  Can't wait.

Do our thoughts and plans fit in with what you have in mind?  Just let us know if anything isn't alright with you!!  We are all very excited to have another packing party so soon.  MA Mommas are on a roll!!!  HooYah.

HOOYAH to the MA Mommas!!!!!

Exciting isn't it Pat??  Really wishing Sheryl was here to enjoy this!  Besides I miss my "partner-in-crime" very much!

MA Moms... thank you, thank you, thank you.  This all sounds great and please feel free to include the Christmas Cards!

YOU ALL ROCK!!!!

Thanks Tammy!  We are trying to get our group really moving.  A big influx of new moms has certainly helped.  Sometime all that is needed is some "new, fresh blood"!!!  And we have really had that happen lately.

It sounds like you have a great group!  We really appreciate all you do and can't wait to hear about your packing party!!  Please let us know what you will be sending

Everyone out there sending to the Shoup, please let us know what is being shipped!  YOU ARE THE BEST
