Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 411 and 412

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My Grandson is also in Div 412 ship 13. He had his wisdom teeth out last week and now he has shin splints from all the marching and running. I told him that after this is over he will feel like he is on vacation! Now that is one tough l dy to be able to talk on the phone and Havana a mammogram! Hope your Grandson gets better fast!

I have a funny to tell....during inspection of their bunk they have to fold their blanket in a perfect square, his wasn't.. so he took a hit for that.  Afterwards he tried several times to get the blanket in a square... finally he took the blanket to his RDC and said "Sir, please help me, I can't get this to fold in a perfect square", after several tries.. the RDC couldn't either... :|   and he just said, son - know you will always get a hit for the blanket and just make sure you don't get any more than that.....  the blanket has been used so much it is stretched out and can now only fold in a rectangle shape......  LOL

That's not right, CP.  Maybe they need to get some new blankets, you think?

lesson learned... life isn't always fair.  Even though I feel for your SR, you can' t help but chuckle a little.  Thanks for sharing.

How is everyone doing? Our son was able to make a call Wednesday but called his girlfriend. We did get a letter, though. He is doing good but gets yelled at a lot. Lots of pushups..lots of cussing. If you all haven't already, join the group PIR 11-1-13 Navy Boot Camp on facebook.

I am on that one also!!

Hi everyone! My Grandson is In Ship 13 Div 412. I finally got a letter from him a couple of days ago! He had 2 wisdom teeth pulled about a week ago, and was down for the count a couple of days. It sounds like he is making friends and likes everyone in his division. He is having some problems with shin splints and that worries his Mother and I., but my Husband was in Vietnam Nam and says that they are probably marching them a lot. We are flying in to Midway Halloween at 7:00 pm, so we won't make the meet and greet, but look forward to meeting everyone Nov 1

My son also had wisdom teeth pulled out according to his letter that I received today but dated Sept. 24th...said it didn't hurt at first but was in pain the following day and couldn't eat anything :/ but he was glad he got 2 days to rest!

In case you haven't heard already :

" ALERT ALERT ALERT ! Exciting News. Our PIR Group will be having a raffle at Sarges Meet & Greet. ......

Just because the government shut down doesn't mean us Navy Moms Navy Dads, Grandparent's, Girl friends Boy friends, Husbands and Wives.. should do the same. Anyone that would like to put together a basket filled with items from your home state to represent your home state or items you have crafted, baked or borrowed and forgot to return to the neighbor that moved. You can bring it to the Meet and Greet and have it raffled off. With all the proceeds going to Sarge and his wife. They provide and purchase the food, nothing is donated. Sarge will also make a donation to cards for recruits with money raised from the raffle. Pay it forward, Pay it forward.  The basket can represent your home state.  We can have many different baskets with many different things in them. Sports items, Challenge Coins. Blue Candles. The possibilities are endless. Each raffle ticket will be $ 5.00 or 5 for $ 20.00. Really it is what ever you want to bring and there is a dollar store and a Walmart right across the street for people to buy baskets if flying in. You can use gift bags and even buckets. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you. Time to have some fun. We will also be having a Halloween costume contest so bring your little Goblins a ll dressed up and a some candy to pass out if you can.

Other than the phone call (which we all missed) on Sept. 14th, we haven't received a call from my son.  Someone told me no news is good news, but I saw some people from the same ship/division post that they received calls.  I'm a newbie at this whole boot camp/military stuff although I live in a city with military all over me...anyway, I'm not sure to be concerned or not.  I just now read about purchasing a phone card for him and activating it, not sure why I didn't think about it a long time ago.  I guess I was scared to send him anything for fear he'd get in trouble.  Anyway, I received a letter (very short) from him today dated Sept. 24 and he wrote "to be continued on Sept. 28" in the letter he said he finally got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out and was able to sleep for 2 days.  He's in high spirits but he is very homesick...most of all, he misses the home cooked meals from out native islands...I just hope that he's okay since I haven't received a call since 9/14

Where are you from? You said Islands.
