GREAT dinner with him tonight.  He is psyched and ready.  I'm sure tomorrow will be a day to remember.

Just got "the call" at 9:15 pm.  Same scripted 3 lines.  Sounded a bit tired, but to be expected.  Will be a long night, I'm sure.  But... safe and sound where he wants to be.  And it begins, ladies :)

Our call came at about 9:30. He sounded tired, a little wobbly, but he got to talk to us all :-) Said he got three minutes. So his brother and two sisters all got to say hi . . . and then hung up and cried.

I'm  glad no one told me that he'd have to tell me his next call will be in about three weeks, that is when I cried.

I don't think I have ever gone more than a day without talking to him. Even when he went to Europe for his senior trip. This is going to be tough . . .

My son just texted that they've made it to CHI. Just walked in the door at home, and it is VERY overwhelming. Feeling lost, yet feeling so excited and happy for him!

Glad he made it!!  Mine will be there around 7:15 Chicago time tonight.  You never know, they might be on the same bus from the airport to the base!!!

Barefoot !!!! I could copy your post. Mine landed in Chicago bout 45 minutes ago he send a short txt. we pulled in at home bout 5 minutes before that. A bit relieved that that part is done anxious for whats next to come. Came home stood in his room for a minute. ( Left it ) clean it later. Or... Maybe never. Lol. Many thought to all of you moms out there it's tough. But everyone is so right. Soooo proud of all of our boys!!! Thank them all for choosing to serve!! (((( hugs))))

It's so exciting that they are all arriving in Chicago!!  It's finally real and I am so proud of these sons and daughters, and their moms!!

Best wishes to all :)

It is exciting!  I got the "I'm hear call" @ 12:20 am this morning (it was 11:20 pm Chicago time) and he sounded good and he sounded calm which made me feel much much better.   I don't know why I am feeling so anxious.  I guess it is the mamma bear instinct coming out....you know if the training instructor yells at my kid, I want to yell back at the training instructor! LOL  I like to protect my kids, but I am not one of those parents that thinks my kids are saints, I will be the first to  point it out when either one of my kids does something wrong, but if they are right, watch out! LOL

My guy just got there (Chicago) an hour ago . . . he is a day behind your Group. I hope they are still in the same PIR group! Four went from our area.

I'm still a bundle of nerves.

Hugs to all of you!

So proud of our kids!

My son is 19 and also left on 10/2/13. He shipped out from Montgomery, AL. I am nervous too!

ERoshaven We should stay In Touch. We should be in the same schedule. My son left yesterday too.

That would be great!
