My son left 10/2. We are from Treynor, Iowa. Strange and sad walking by his room this morning
I was doing ok keeping it together till I went in to straighten up his room. Also, doing the laundry was hard... folding his clothes and putting them away. So sad... feels like a loss. Trying to be positive is hard!
I am going through the same thing. Felt lost yesterday when I walked back into the house. Couldn't bring myself to go in his room, or open his bag I brought back with me after we parted company. Not doing too badly being at work, but the thought of going back home is more than I can take. I know it will get easier, but this is tough. Not as tough as what HE is going starting, though.
Your right. I even checked my 11 year old son out of school yesterday to keep me busy. Today I am doing much better.
Thank you for sharing how you feel about going back home, that was soooooo hard. I haven't opened his bag I brought home yet, can't go in his room yet, the door stays
I was really dreading going home from work this afternoon, but now I will be babysitting my 2 month old grandson so at least I will have a wonderful thing to preoccupy me! I might try going into my son's room this weekend. Already have a note on my doors for FedEx lol
It's my understanding that YES, the box would have to be signed for (due to phones being shipped now). But several other Moms on here have said they left a sign on their door letting FedEx know they could drop off a delivery WITHOUT getting a signature. I am counting on that!!
Thank You for that information and solution!! It is very much appreciated!!!
Left my son at noon today. He is still waiting at the USO at OHare waiting for the flights to come in to head up to GL.
While it was hard for me, watching his siblings broke my heart. Kids bicker and tease- but the love each other so much. His brother and sister are so proud of him and so sad to see him go.
Now we are home and wait for his call tonight.....
