My son got to his A school the Saturday  before last, has anyone else heard anything about them getting sent home if the strike isn't resolved  my son said he finds out on oct 17, is he misunderstanding what is being said or is this a possibility?

My son is in Mississippi in A School.  He said A School was delayed, but hasn't said anything about coming home.

my sons was delayed but last night when he called he said that they find out on oct 17 if they are being sent home, was just wondering if anyone else got that message

My son told his fiance that he will graduate on November 1st as planned, but if the shutdown is still happening he may not get his orders, and if that happens he will stay at PH until he gets his orders.  That will delay his homecoming, but he is still guaranteed two weeks.  It will just be later than planned.  Thank heavens he was more than half way through his schooling.

seems from this site alot of things are going to get back on track I hope so Our military deserve that for their dedication to this country!

I Haven't heard of any delays from my son or when he is graduating either, he said he would only get a two week notice, when he gets his orders? I'm totally confused and don't know much, his calls are always rushed, it's hard to ask much!

my son is finally back on track and they gave him a graduation date, i know about the hurried rushed calls, my son and i have started leaving Facebook messages to each other when there is something we want to tell each other and cant connect, its been working well.

My son got his orders yesterday and he is excited.  He is becoming a Riverine.  He'll be home on the 1st and then off to his real world after leave.  So happy and proud for him!

Well new updates as of last night.  My son leaves PH Friday to fly to St Louis and two weeks R&R with family and fiance.  Nov 8th they will exchange vows and start their life together but apart.  He then leaves for arms training at Gulfport for 3 weeks or so, due to his unit being deployed overseas.  After Gulfport it's one day at a time.

Awesome, congrats to him on all fronts!!, My son will come home for 10 days at xmas, then back to PH til mid jan then he will go for combat training, still not sure where yet though.

How wonderful to have him home for Christmas.  Hope it's a great time!

I am thanking all the powers that be that my son was not at LAX when that selfish man tried to commit suicide by police.  However his actions did disrupt the airlines flights and now my son's 5pm flight yesterday became a 9:30am flight today. I will get a much needed hug at 4:30pm today. I am hoping none of your children were in harms way yesterday.

I hope your son arrived home safely.  Its a shame that innocent people are the price of someone elses grudges. Im thankful my son was still on base and not due to come home yet
