My daughter left on Tuesday, Oct. 2, arrived at Great Lakes late Wednesday. I called the recruiter a few days later as he instructed and he gave me the address and said she was on Ship 12, Division 028. But I've not rec'd a letter, just her box---that was here within the first few days.
Any other moms here with a kid in the same division?

I wrote a reply, but I did not see anything...just blank. So I will try this again. My son left on October 7th and arrived to Great Lakes later that night. Few days later I called the recruiter and said he is at Ship 12 Div 028. His PIR is set for 11-27. I did picked up his box today, since I missed it yesterday. I did receive the form letter today and the return address is the same (Ship 12 Div 028) but the form letter has Ship 04 Div 028. The street address is the same on both return address and letter, which is for Ship 12 (I looked it up). I did not receive a phone call from him today and I miss him tons. The only phone call was when he arrived at Great Lakes.
Thanks for responding. I hope we don't have a mix up too with where our kids are.
Confusing how they have it. lol
I know it is a little crazy! I have been mailing his letters to Ship 12, since the street address is for Ship 12 and not Ship 04. We will see what happens.
Hi -- there's a group for PIR 11/27/2013. You may want to join and see if you can hook up with moms with children in the same division.
oh my the odds of my daughter that shipped October 8th will be high that PIR is on 11/27?
got the box 3 days after she left, no letter yet, emailed recruiter with no response.
It might look that way! The good news is that they graduate on Wednesday, and they will probably get Thanksgiving off, too, and fly out on Friday. A whole other day with our sailors! The last three years, this is how it worked for Thanksgiving PIR.
Thanks. I will do that when I know for sure when her day is. I'm not even sure of her address yet. It's been two weeks. Still lo letter.
