Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

You will be receiving the form letter in the next few days. 10 days after arrival used to be average, but it is now a little quicker than that for most.
Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Ronnie'sMom, Yes, that should be how it goes. Every now and then those arriving on a Thursday will have P-Hold until the next week, that happens for some of those who will have 10 Fridays. If that happened, Tuesday was P-1, but for now believe that P-1 was last Friday.

Paula, yes, Saturdays and Sundays are always Hold Days as are any federal holidays. After the division forms there is some training on Saturday, but usually nothing new and there is no training that would involve staff outside of the RDC and the Petty Officers and Recruit Petty Officers in charge of the division (no Marline Spike, shooting, BST...) on weekends. Sundays after the division forms are for holiday routine. See What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology) if any of those terms are unknown to you.

I haven't received the box yet. I'm hoping I will by tomorrow. This is going to be a long eight weeks:-/ I have started writing letters though. I got through my first one with no tears!

I got my box today, but it was later in the afternoon. I'm sure you'll get yours tomorrow.
I guess we just have to look forward to each little event like KIB and the form letter as little milestones along the way to help pass the time.

I havent received anything yet either. I have had to control myself to not hunt down fedex and the postman. Hoping the box and letter get here soon!

Thank you for the information helps a lot.. I do have one question for now, what day they usually get make their phone calls? Some people mentioned Sundays and others said depend, I just like to have an idea..

Saturdays and Sundays are when many will call, but really it could be any day. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls. That even tells some times when you can relax and know that you are unlikely to miss a call.
