Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 027 and 028
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Please let me know the Ship number for these brother divisions so I may add it to the title. :)
Division 27 is Ship 12. What exactly is Brother Divisions??
Brother divisions train together from the start through Battlestations. Where one division goes so does the other!
Thank you. :)
Hi! I posted this to the main page, but my SR called today and said his papers were wrong -- that he's ship 04 DIV 27, not ship 12. He specifically said USS Arleigh Burke so I don't think he misspoke.
My son is in DIV 028 and on his form letter I received almost a week ago has Ship 12 and on the letter it is ship 04.
The street address is for Ship 12 on both return address and form letter. I have sent a few letters to Ship 12. I did not get a letter today and hoping tomorrow to clear this up. Thanks for posting EnragedTurtle.
No problem! My SR (husband) is one of the mail clerks, so I'm sure he'll get everything straightened out without trouble. My sister-in-law had already sent off one letter to Ship 12 and we were told not to worry, it will still get there. He also said he had written me a few letters but had to wait to send them out until he could. So here's hoping we'll both get something soon!! :)
My SR called yesterday and he told me that they changed his ship from 12 to 4 in Div 28. So if yours is in Div 28 they made this change. He said that the letters will still get to him. He said that he gets to start writing me today.
Hope helps.
My Son is Ship 04 Division 027
Mine too!!!!
Hi everyone. I'm new to the site, but wanted to ask a question. Because PIR is on November 27th, does that mean the sailors will be home for Thanksgiving. My son is supposed to be shipping out-of-state for A-school, which I understood would be the next day after graduation. Because the next day is a holiday, will that be shifted to the following day, which is Friday November 29th? Just wondering if anyone knew. I was confused why graduation wasn't on Friday, November 29th, but thought it had something to do with the holiday. Thanks!
Most of the people on this site have said that they don't usually fly out on Thanksgiving Day. But I'm learning that anything is possible! I'm in the same boat, my husband is going out-of-state for A School. He won't be able to go "home" for Thanksgiving, though. He might have Liberty but he'll probably have to stay within 50 miles of the base. The main wall for PIR 11/27/2013 is overflowing with people making Thanksgiving plans in the vicinity of GL.
