Welcome to our October adoptee announcement... drumroll please...
This month's adoptees are the crew of the mighty USS Shoup!
The crew has been deployed for approximately 5 months and they are not turning back anytime soon. This is a small ship so they don't have access to many comfort items. They are in need of support from home to boost morale and spirit, we need to send them some love!

Let's send the taste and flavors of Fall--- include packaged apple goodies, pumpkin and spice treats, etc.

How excited they will be when they receive your packages! I spoke to our POC today and they are so excited to receive some love from home. They really don't have a clue what to expect... 'I AM GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR" Please remember to send your pictures to us during your packing parties whether you are sending 1 or 100... every one of them are special! Thank you... Thank you...
Proud Navy/NYPD Mom - Donna - are we still on for this Saturday, 10/19 for the packing party at your house at 12:30?
Anything you need me to bring or pick up? Let me know, Hugs, Tammy
Yes indeed! We are still on for Saturday. And we are going to need all hands on deck to get Chelita's boxes of pies into my house, so everybody needs to come wearing comfy shoes ... lol
I've been thinking, I need to do some moving of furniture as well as the boxes I'm packing for moving. Have to be able to keep track of what is going in the mail and what will, eventually, be going in a moving truck!!
Hi All, I have all the pies wrapped in socks and the boxes are all packed up.
I've convinced my husband to drive with me as it is an hour + drive and I've had a LONG couple of weeks!
He will be helping me get the boxes in the house, so no worries on that!
I may not stay too long, certainly long enough to get all the customs forms squared away for my boxes though.
I also have a stack of the most precious letters from my niece's 8th grade class in Seattle WA, the are PRICELESS!!!
And tonight I plan on writing a letter to the POC to give credit to all my helpers on "Operation Sailors, Socks & Pie"
This has been SO much fun!!!
Gosh... let your niece know that the WA moms are getting together this sunday for a packing party for the Shoup... she would be most welcome to join us and help create more cards and or help wrap some pillowcases for another project. She can even bring her mom and friends!! See the event in the event section on the right of this page for more details!!
It's looking like I will have between 3-4 boxes this time. A mix of snacks and toiletry items. I will give a more exact count as I pick up more items people are donating to me.
