For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is in the Nuke program as well. His recruiter said he is Ship 2 Division 905. I didn't get the letter confirming that today. I really want to mail those letters and give his address to others. My cousins little boy wrote him the nicest letter telling him that he's always been his roll model. I'm sure he needs to hear stuff like that right now. Maybe tomorrow.

I wondered if your son was a nuke. Of the 11 that left from Atlanta on the 10th, 6 were in the nuke program. The recruiter told me that the guys in the nuclear program usually got put in 905 or 906. I'm sure that there are 3 other freaked out Moms somewhere in Georgia that are worried because they haven't heard from their son and don't know about this site. Neither me nor Paula got our letters today either, but it was nice to have the confirmation of their address and PIR date. I will feel better when I get that letter though.

There is one division 905 and one 906 each year. For the Recruiter to say that is really strange. Yes, there are often a high number of Nukes in the Ship Staff/Honor Guard, which 906 is, but Division 905 is Triple Threat and that has a wide mix of ratings. Division 906 is not always Ship Staff/Honor Guard, it all depends on the rotation.

Good to know. Thanks for clarifying. I'm not sure I'll ever completely understand our recruiter, but since I'm not in the Navy I guess I don't need to :-)
why is there only one 906 per year?

The 900 division numbers begin with 901 with the TG that begins training the first week of October with the new Navy fiscal year. The same thing happens with regular divisions; they begin with 001. The 800 divisions start over as well, but Division 801 is not always in TG 01. The numbers advance consecutively until starting all over the next fiscal year. Your recruit's full division number is 2014906 to distingish it from Division 906 in another fiscal year, but you only need to write Division 906 since it is the only one there now. Just got a call from hubby. I got two letters today. Assuming one form & one from my recruit. On way home, will update more when I land. So relieved.

He is in Div 037 Ship 13, the other letter was the Adopt-A-Sailor program. He gets Liberty for Thanksgiving. I mailed all his letters. I am so excited about Thanksgiving. His PIR is 13-DEC-13 also. His note was all in BLOCK LETTERS and legible. Something that was not the case before. I would not have gotten through this week with out all of you.. Thanks so much!!

Join PIR 12/13/2013 TG 05 to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Divisions 037 and 038 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.
