Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 025 and 026

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thank you! I'll check it out!

Glad to hear! Mine should be here soon! Hubby found a Navy Dad sweatshirt at the Army Surplus store near our house today :-) He's happy.

Wow - ordered my PIR ribbons & had to call for phone pymt.  Spoke to LaLa (Lora) - let me tell you she is one sweet Mom :)  She was so patient & so helpful - before we knew it we had chatted away for 40 mins.  She has a girl Sailor, so it was great to hear from the "other side".  Also priceless to connect with a Mom who has made it thru past A school & into real life.  It's going to be ok.....,.

Ok, somehow I missed the PIR ribbons . . . where do I find those?!?

uniquememorymakers.com
Ribbons are personalized, even my hubby wanted one, so I ordered 3 (one for gf too), plus I got a t-shirt. Very reasonable prices.
My husband found link for navyoutfitters.com but I didn't like those ribbons as well. And unique memory makers is ran by a Navy mom whose daughter went through BC a few years ago
Bought to our tickets last night. Start praying for me that I survive 7 hours our traveling on the way there wih 1 very small children! LOL

Yay!! I'm not sure what will be crazier . . . your trip or mine. Six hours in a car with three teenagers . . . :-o

Good luck on yours! Glad you are going to be there.

Just notice my typo...2 small children! Lol

I know of at least  3 of us that have asked our SR to let us know if there was anyone that needs mail.  I'm hoping to get a letter this week with the answer.  It takes so long to get an answer - 3-4 days before he gets the ? followed by 3-4 days for us to get a letter... we are sure spoiled by electronic communication :) I feel like everything is Pony Express !!

We have an aunt that teaches 4th grade that offered to have her students write, so I posted last night asking for input. This is the response:

FLsailormom, No problem sending the letters from the 4th graders to the recruits. Let your SR know that you will be sending an envelope full of letters from his aunts class, and he is to pass them around to the other recruits. Give him the heads up, so when he receives it, and needs to open it in front of an RDC, he isn't worried about what is in it. The RDCs may "kid" him about it, but it won't get him in trouble. They know how important mail is to the recruits. :)

Put all the letters in a manila envelope (or how ever many it takes) and send them to your SR to pass out to the other recruits. Ask your aunt to have the kids put their address on the letters, some of them may get a letter in return.

I have not heard. I just received "the" letter. I just wrote him I hope he gets it soon.  I dont think it will get to him by his birthday.  :(  I'm just happy I can write him now.  I would be willing to send extra letters as well.

Yes, Bethany NY we are spoiled by electronics.

Thystle and FLsailormom...that is a great idea!

We got letters today!!!!

Two for the whole family, one each for his siblings, and one for Dad and I. Wow . . . he already sounds different.

He said he is good at everything so far, is catching up (he got a little behind being in sickbay) but the time is going so slow. He sent encouragement to his siblings, and told us how much he appreciated us as parents. Made us both cry.

I can't believe how hard this is going to be, having him gone for years :-(
