Geeda, Just approved you for MAS We Ship Love so you now have access to the addresses. Also sent a message to you on your page.

Well the Massachusetts Navy Moms' packing party is now history - well except for a few details, like getting them all out of my house!!  We packed a total of 40 boxes.  Pictures will follow when I can get Andrew to help me download the pictures we took.  We had an amazing assortment of items.  Here's the run-down of what's in our boxes:  300 pies in a jar w/300 pairs of socks protecting them (apple, pumpkin & pecan); 12 doz carmel apple cookies; 9 dozen pumpkin spice cookies; 5 doz sugar cookies (cut-outs); 35 snack size packages of candy carmel & dark chocolate kisses; 39 toothbrushes; 18 shaving cream; 12 shampoo/ conditioners; 9 tubes of toothpaste; 300 lollipops; 2 contact lens cleaner; case of ramen noodles; case soup in acup; 6 cleansing wipes; 48 granola bars; 4 jars of fluff; 8 razors; 15 pks of nail files, clippers & cuticle removers; 7 lip balms; 2 packs of nail polish & lip stick; 3 sun screen lotions; 18 female deodorant; 2 paper-cone pumpkins; 2 paper-cone turkeys; 2 "ropes" of fall leaves; 7 pks of Thanksgiving napkins; 25 Crab Tree & Evelyn cosmetic bags; 16 nerf footballs and, last but not least, 760 Christmas cards.

Not bad for 4 Mommas & 1 Dad!!!  I think I see the Shoup listing a bit ...  LOL

That is awesome GREAT JOB! You are amazing, thank you, thank you!

Us navy moms and dads are mighty.... No limit to what we can do, you proved that today.
WOW!! That is Amazing!! Job well done :-)

Chelita brought some of the sweetest letters ever.  We cried as she read several to us.  I asked her if I could make a copy & share them with you.  They are precious!  This is most definitely a BOUNTY ALERT!!!!  BE WARNED:

#1:  To Our Friend in the Navy,

From a 13 year old 8th grade boy.  I don't know if this means a lot to you.  But your service means a lot to me and I have so much respect for you and everybody else in the armed forces.  My stepdad did 2 tours in Afghanistan and my grandfather fought in World War II.  Neither of them were in the Navy (Air Force and Army) so I'm not sure exactly what you do, but I know it can't be easy.  Everything you do is hard, but you do it for the American citizens and I can't tell you how much that means to me.  You're the reason I can go to school everyday.  You're the reason I can get up every morning and choose what I want to do.  And, you're the reason that one day, I will be able to choose my government leader, choose what I want to do for work, and choose who I want to love and marry.  That's because of you.

Thank you for allowing me, and everybody else in this country be free.  It's because of you.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sam J.

#2  Hey.  My name is Halima M. and I go to McClure Middle School.  I really appreciate what you guys are doing for our country.  Even though I don't really know a lot about the military and stuff, I know how much people want you guys to come back from war and if you don't have any family or person back home, don't be sad because I'll be right here rooting you on and when you arrive back home safely I will be there holding your hand or saluting you.  One more thing I am a muslim and because of who I am I hope we become friends.  Well what I'm really hoping is for us to become friends.

Sincerely,

Halima M.

PS:  I hope you right [sic] back to me for I will always be waiting for your letter.

Can't add a single thing to either of these letters could we?  Sniff. Sniff.  All the letters were wonderful.  I'm sure they will mean a lot to the sailors who receive them.

Well, check back later and hopefully I'll have some pictures downloaded!

Thank you to Chelita & her husband, Nick's Mom (from RI), and Pat.  I really enjoyed being with you today.

Next up -- Susan and the WA Moms!!

Love the letters. Oh my they are precious. How is everyone doing? How did the packing parties go?

The Alabama Families got out a total of 20 boxes.  Since this was our first time I am very proud of the effort of 3 moms, 4 kids and a grandmother...lol.

Our elementary school kids really got behind this project and after including 5 or 6 letters and cards in each box we still have a bunch left over for the next project!

I am afraid that given how much time we had, we did not anything homemade, but my nieces made sure each box had several bags of sour patch kids since those are their favorites too.

We enjoyed this so much!

20 Boxes is awesome, thank you so much jonsmom and our Alabama team!!!!  They are going to love the cards from the children, it means so much to have somethig that is from the heart and kids just say the darndest things sometime.  LOL

Do not worry about not having homemade goodies in the boxes, everything that is received is truly appreciated!

Thanks again, you rock!!!!

Hurrah for Alabama!!  Your packing party sounds like it was a lot of fun.  We're glad you joined in on the adoption.  Wait until the thank you's start coming in and being shared!!  That's such an incredible high, you'll be ready to do it all over again!  And that's a guarantee.

I will be shipping 5 or 6 boxes tomorrow. Sorry I am late, but people just got their donations to me.

It looks like many Christmas cards have already shipped, and I have about 150 myself.  Should I send them, or should I hold onto them for next month's adoption? Do any little birds know if the next adoption will call for Christmas cards?

No Worries, thank you so much!  As for the cards, I know that this month's group did receive some Christmas Cards so maybe send them to our Nov. adoptees (this group will be announced in early Nov. but I don't know what they have on their wish list)
