These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Hi everyone. I'm feeling a little blue today. It's been 2 weeks since I've talked to my SR. I imagine it's been that way for all or most of us. Just wishing I could hear her voice.

I know. I have not heard from mine in 2 wks either. And I have so many questions for her! Have any of you heard anything about our SRs moving from Ship 12 to Ship 11? So of the moms on FB had heard that. My daughter to not mention anything.

Me too. I keep the phone by me always just in case, it's been hard not getting to talk to my daughter. With this weeks extra holiday it might not be until Sat before I get her next letter. I got a letter on a Weds, the next week it was a Thurs., then last week it came on a Friday. I'll still hope for a letter tomorrow! She was sick with a bad cold when she wrote to me last.

I hear ya!! I just keep telling myself what the recruiter told me ...if you don't hear anything, things are going well, if you start hearing more from your recruit and/or the staff, then there is a problem.  so no new is good news.  Hang in there!!!  It is tough!!   WE CAN DO IT!!!!

I got her letters yesterday and she did say they moved to ship 11. This is what I put on facebook:

Yes we got letters! Her personal inspections are great, compartment inspection not as good. They were to have a drill inspection today. She likes being a section leader and feels she's developing as a leader. The guys are starting to feel like big bros and there's less drama with the girls. They're starting to come together. They got IT'D because they did poorly while marching. She said it was really hard but the guys started shouting "one team!" and everyone would yell back "one fight!" and then "hoo-yah!". That helped push her through. She said it sucked, but it was worth it.

Hello, my son wrote a letter on Sunday that said they were supposed to move to Ship 11, and in anticipation, they were not receiving any mail. Should I send letters to him addressed to Ship 11, with the same Division number as before? I'm confused about what to do. I want him to receive mail! Also, someone mentioned there is a Facebook page for PIR 11/08. I went there. but it's a closed group. How does one sign up?

Thanks. He's in 424. So the address would read Ship 11 Div 424?

My son has really been stressing the PFA for running. He should do fine, but he has a problem with getting a nervous stomach when exercising sometimes. When he was in high school, he would be nauseous at early morning band rehearsal. We even saw a GI specialist, and they ran tests. The tests showed nothing untoward, and the doctor just said he should avoid acidic foods, etc.

He is in excellent physical shape, though, and was training regularly before BC. He has been frustrated that PT times have been interrupted a lot. Has anyone else's SR mentioned this?

I already started writing my daughter to ship 11! Last week she thought they would move on the 18th so I jumped the gun. But whatever I send her as of today wont arrive until Monday the 28th which is when they move into ship 11. I am in the FB group, just ask to join and the admin will accept the request :)

I got letters today! Woo hoo! My SR listed her friends but I can't put last names on here. This weeks letter was good, they trained on Marlinspike and she thought it funny that water was painted on floor! But she said it was fun. She is looking forward to BS.

We live in Florida and due to unforseen circumstances have come to the sad realization that we will be unable to attend PIR.  I thought I read somewhere about a gift package that could be purchased and be available for our SR.  I can't find the info now.  Does anyone know where it is located?

There is a # 1-888-317-6971. It is in a  pamphlet that we received with our SRs 1st letter. It's $19.99 and you have to order before noon, 2 days prior to the PIR. Orders are taken M-F 8am-3pm CST. Its called MWR's Navy Care Package. I am sorry you will not be able to attend PIR. Will anyone be there for your Sailor?

Thank you so much!  I knew I had seen it somewhere.  We are heartbroken that we can not go.  Unfortunately she will have no one there.  But hopefully we can attend her A school graduation in San Antonio.

We are thankful that we can watch it via internet.  I was concerned we would not be able to see her, but her mom got a letter saying she had requested to be a "stick" person.  If there are enough flags perhaps she will be on the front.  She said at first they said she could not be a stick person because she is too tall, but she argued she was no taller than one of the guys who was a stick.  So they said ok if they have enough flags.
