Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 802

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

kaw, are you back?

well well well. I can't believe I'm here again. My second oldest son graduated from BUD/s class 292 last fall and now my third son is trying the same path and is in this division 802. I really am not up to going through this again! Hi ladies! Hi sjtina!! I am by far an expert here but I have been through this wild ride once. Hope everyone is well. It seems like this division has had a pretty tough time

terrie, its always a rough start, but they eventually get it together mentally and physically. There are many different personalities and abilities among large groups. Some may not take it as serious, but they will. Some go against the grain to get additional PT, which they may feel they are not getting enough of. There are some who decide this may not be for them.

CiCi, that is wonderful that you open up your home to the sailors. A little bit of home for the holidays is just what they need after BC.

woohoo that is wonderful news. This is the first time I have had a repeat mom. Glad to have you back.

Terrie - because they are an 800 Division they get tough RDC's from the get go. I know that Div 802 has had less priveledges than the other 800 division (don't know the number of that one). But don't be alarmed - this is just all part of the process. Fair is not exactly an attribute that is embelished by the Navy! I found that the sooner I could accept that the better off I could handle all the situations!

My family lives in Oak Creek, WI (less than 40 miles away) and has opened up our home to the boys in 802 for Thanksgiving.  My SO has told a few of the boys in the Div. but I wanted to make it known on here to the moms as well.

Also, any families that aren't able to make it to PIR but want to send their sons packages to have on PIR day can send them to my house. I'll deliver them unopened to your son.  My SO has told a few of his friends in the Div. but again, I wanted to make it known to the moms on here.  To get my address write your son and have him request my address from the SR with the girlfriend in Oak Creek.

That is so nice of you. We'll pass that on to our son.
Very generous of you! That could be a lot of turkey!

and sweet potato casserole ;)

Good morning! I am a veteran mom. sjtina asked me to join and help out with your group. I'm a veteran mom. My son left for BC Dec, 6, 2011 and PIR Feb 3, 2012.  He was div 804.  sjtina was such a great help and support for me when I started this journey. I hope I will be able to help you and answer your questions.

Blessings to you and your special sons.

Mich3boys, if your son is going to PreBuds you should have the whole weekend with him. He will have to return each night, but can be picked up in the morning. Right after PIR you will only have a short time to spend with him because he has to move, but expect to pick him back up a few hours later
