OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 803 and 804

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Thank you to ALL of you ladies who have walked this road before us and are willing to help us newbies!  Blessings to all of you as well!

Hi ladies,  I've received a couple of letters from my son but I've not received a letter with information about the PIR.  Was there an official letter about this that was sent out?  I've got my travel arrangements all set but it would be nice to have some information about which building to go to on the 27th and such.  Any information that you can provide would be very much appreciated.  Thanks!

crystal you should of received a form letter with your son's PIR information, gate password, helpful hotel info, and possibly a little note from your son. Is there another address he may of used? Give it some time, but if you do not get it soon, you can call his recruiter to verify the PIR date.

I love the fact that their toughest RDC is a female :) - Go NAVY!!

Got a letter today!!! It sounded like he might be a little frustrated. :( But it made me laugh when he ended his letter with.... "They don't even have sweet tea". That's a southern boy for ya! LOL!

It's really hard to communicate with the delays of snail mail. He's asking things that were answered in letters sent to him a week ago. I'm really looking forward to when they have access to email and text. Can they have phones and computers at Pre Buds? I sure hope so.

Thanks for all you help sjtina and dragon7.

Yep, they can have it all ProudMom. Its a wonderful thing.

Now, that made me laugh!!!  No sweet tea...can you image that! I chuckled out loud at several things my son said in his letter. :)

1proudmom, you can give them their phone, computer and other things when you pick them up after they move over. It is great to be able to communicate again.

Received two letters today. Hope you all have gotten mail too! Happy rainy, blustery Halloween
Do any of yu n4m have any restaurants you recommend for thanksgiving or supermarket we could buy a thanksgiving dinner. We will have a kitchenette but no oven.

Aunt bee there are lots of stores and restaurants within minutes of Great Lakes. I am sure if you mapquest the base they should be easy to find.

Thanks sjtina, I really appreciate all of you Veteran moms for walking us through this process. God bless.
