Jingle Bells… Jingle Bells… Jingle and the way to the Crew of the

     USS RENTZ

3 Females and 240 Males Aboard

We are heading back to sea and sending out love out to the USS Rentz FFG 46.  They are currently assisting the Coast Guard performing drug enforcement off the coast of South America.  They are about midway of their eight-month deployment and ready for some love from home!

We would like to send each sailor a small VHS sized box filled and wrapped as a Christmas gift to be opened on Christmas morning.  If you pack them carefully you can fit eight of this smaller box in a large FPO box.  That is a total of 300 VHS boxes...  are you ready moms??

Pillowcases are a go!  They will have them set out for the guys to choose from on Christmas day.

Remember it is warm where they are- still in the 90 degree range every day!  So there is no need of warm hats or gloves for this group... even Santa will want to slip into his bathing suit for this delivery!

Let's show them our mom love and send the very best for the Christmas  Hannuka  Kwanza Holiday… Season

Merry Christmas coming to the USS Rentz! I'm in! I will commit to at least 8 individual Christmas gifts and also send snacks, toiletries, etc to share!
Do we have a ship date?

Hi Kim,

Ship date Nov 20th

WooHoo to the Rentz!!! We also have a very well known Mama with a kiddo onboard!!

Thanks to the generosity of "Valeriejean", I have 210 Christmas stockings already. Illinois/Chicago moms are going to fill them at my house on Nov. 16. I have planned to get enough stockings to have one for everyone on the Rentz. BUT......I don't want to be greedy..........if anyone else has stockings they had planned on filling and sending, please let me know. We can co-ordinate so we end up sending enough stockings for everyone.

Nice job Donna!!  I will get started!

Thank you Tammy.

Thank you Kim (Ethan's Mom)

The ship date is Nov 20th - 22nd

I just love Christmas! Count me in too for 8 individual boxes.

Thanks!  I'll put you down for 8 :)

There are no silly questions! The VHS sized boxes I use are the small flat rate priority boxes you can get free from the post office. I'm going to put things like jerky, single Gatorade powder, some sort of small toy/game and maybe some gum, candy and shocking stuffer items. Slim Jim's are also small and a great fill in for small spaces. I put the box together as it comes fiat and then tape it really well so it doesn't pop open when I fill it full! They will love anything! If you get the kids to help, take a few pictures of them working and send those along with the packages!

Hi Sylviar...what part of N. CA are you in? There is a bay area group and a Sacramento area group on N4Moms, but I don't think they are normally a part of Molly's group, although I could be wrong.

If you are comfortable doing so, you can ask friends for donations for the boxes.  Many, many people like to get involved, especially this time of year.  My community has an online bulletin board, and I posted last month and asked for Christmas cards and ended up with so many donations of snacks, etc. that I sent 5 large boxes!!! Some folks even helped out with postage. You might be surprised at the response you get, especially if you are only asking for items to fill a small video sized box.  Good luck!  And....even if you can only send one box, it will be appreciated.
