Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 017 and 018

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I haven't heard from Stephen since the letter he wrote on 10/18/2013.  I am anxious to hear how things are going that I can hardly stand it!  Hope today is the day we all hear from our kids!!  Praying for them all to be successful!  Let us know if you hear from your son!

Hello. New to the site. Our grandson is on Ship 13 Div 017. Happy to finally be able to talk to those that will have graduates on November 22. Our Ben likes going to church as well. His last call home was a week ago and he said that it would be his last for a while. He said he would see us at Graduation. We get letters about the middle of the week from him.

Hi Ben's gram you must be very proud we usually get letters on Wednesday. Hope all is well

Just saw this orkymom. We are so proud. We are more like parents than grandparents. Our SR, and his two sisters have been with us for 14 years. We have gotten letters on Wednesday as well. I would think that next week (Nov. 11 there will be no mail) will be the last we send. Don't know how long it takes for our letters to get to him. Today we got letters he wrote on 10-28, 11-1 and 11-3.

I am sorry you won't be able to make it to graduation, although you will probably have the best seat since they now stream it online!  :)

Where is your son going to A school? That is awesome that you are helping with his ticket and surprising him with a trip to the mountain, Oregon has a lot of great ski resorts!  I am very jealous your son gets to come home for the holidays.  My son is going to San Antiono and I was told that he couldn't come home for Christmas.

I am going to bring my son's phone and electronics to the airport on Saturday, since he has to stay there on Friday night. I am also in Oregon, Southern Oregon to be exact:)  If there is anything you need help with let me know.

Hi Oregonmom68,

It is getting closer to time where we can talk to our boys more frequently, and even skype!  I so can't wait, this has been a very long 2 months.  My son was away at college for 2 years but at least I could talk to him when I wanted to!

I did send you a message to your gmail!  I think we are very close in distance.  Nice knowing I have someone so close experience the same thing that I am.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Let me know if you don't get the e-mail, I sent it from my phone and I am always leary if people actually get e-mails.

Hey Oregonmom68, Maybe we can take his phone to him. I haven't talked to my son for 2 weeks either and it is hard. I look at my phone so many times each day and I look here to see if anyone else has gotten a call. If you need us to take anything back with us please let us know we can meet somewhere before we leave. Our boys are great boys so I know they are hanging in there, probably better than we are lol.

Just let us know. You know us Mom's gotta stick together. Our boys have again found out that we have our ways of finding out stuff. My son is going to school right there at the Great Lakes so I am hoping to have a little more time with him. Not sure if he will get to come home for Christmas or not. Would love to surprise his Grandparents with a visit.

Did not get a call this week been 3 weeks now. Hope hell week went ok. Just hoping my son is doing well and feeling better, he's been so sick. Keep strong Navy moms! Believing in our kids gives them the freedom to believe I'm themselves

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Does anyone know how soon before graduation/PIR  we should be receiving the "I am a Sailor" call?

I think that comes after Battle Stations which, I believe, is week 7.   Good luck!!
